Department Description: The Primary Data Department, part of the Data & Analytics team, manages and maintains the organization's critical data assets. This department ensures that data is accurate, consistent, and up-to-date across the organization. The Primary Data team is crucial in data governance, quality management, and standardization. The department's close collaboration with various business units allows it to understand their data needs and to establish and enforce data management best practices. The Primary Data group may also be involved in data modeling, integration, and security efforts to support the organization's overall data strategy.


Job Description

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's Primary Data Management systems. It ensures data quality, consistency, and compliance by defining and enforcing data governance policies across the enterprise, including data modeling, data integration, data quality standards, and user access controls. The role involves collaborating with the IT product owner, who liaises with our business partners to identify and address data needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and align solutions with business objectives.

  • Engage with enterprise architects to create a vision for data strategy and communicate the vision into tangible solutions for the business.

  • Plans, delivers, and maintains an architecture roadmap that supports strategic business goals.

  • Define data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and regulation compliance.

  • Influence the overall MDM system architecture, including data models, relationships, and integration strategies.

  • Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and solution delivery review by scrum team and guide with accountability.

  • Create data quality metrics and monitoring processes to identify and remediate data issues.

  • Define data cleansing, enrichment, and curation rules to improve data quality.

  • Establish data quality monitoring frameworks to detect and resolve data issues. proactively

  • Define user roles and permissions within the MDM system to control data access and modification.

  • Establish a framework for data ownership and stewardship across the organization.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Business, Technology, or Engineering specialty

  • 5+ years of experience as an IT professional

  • Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling for large databases

  • Proven knowledge of SQL logic

  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data modeling, data quality, and data governance

  • Experience and expertise in Master Data Management tools, Identity management solutions, and data quality technologies

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulations

  • Ability to drive change through influencing and collaborating to drive business outcomes

  • Strong technical background with a core competency in data lake and master data lifecycle management

  • Broad knowledge of current technology trends and design patterns.
