Job Description

The Director of Business Development/ Sales must have very strong sales skills that include experience in sales pipeline development, prospecting, and closing new and or existing business growth. As a Director of Business Development, you'll be at the forefront of driving new sales and expanding revenue within key customer accounts in the DFW market. Responsible for delivering new and cross business development for the company in assigned segments for all services. Leverage your skills in prospecting, networking, and executing strategic marketing initiatives to increase Flagship’s presence within existing and new accounts. Your efforts will directly contribute to revenue growth and achieving sales targets, offering you the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business. Through perpetual evaluation and improvement, he/she positively impacts key performance indicators such as sales close hit rate, closed business vs budget, profit margin sold, and cross sale percentage. Works closely with SVP of Business Development as well as operations, and creative services teams. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of driving business growth and an ability to manage a team to provide the best business sales close rates in the industry.

This position is both responsible and held accountable for insuring Flagship Enterprises Holding, Incorporated and its employees adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct in the performance of their assigned duties in accordance with basic tenets of business honesty and integrity. The Director of Sales acts as a role model of continuous improvement as he/she develops growth and service excellence within the Region.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for attaining set levels each year for new business growth within the assigned territory
  • Builds customer relationships through strategic conversations to understand organizational business objectives and goals. Understands and influences a wide range of customer stakeholders, while acting as industry expert to the customer.
  • Maintains a consistent ‘pipeline’ that enables meeting and exceeding quota attainment. Activities to support pipeline and account activity include, managing timely detailed responses to RFP’s, tracking activity in CRM, conducting competitive research and knowledge of Flagship service offerings.
  • Active within industry associations in the market to increase brand awareness, through attending tradeshows, reviewing whitepapers and keep current within market trends. Maintains a deep knowledge of customer’s business trends, current macro and micro economic climate, and potential new business opportunities
  • Works with the Proposal, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver each sale opportunity
  • Represents Flagship in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have a strong background and knowledge of strategic sales process and solution selling
  • Must be financially savvy and understand basic elements of a financial package including revenue, costs, profit, margin, overhead, percentages, and others
  • Is capable of producing presentations to executive level customers and internal stakeholders
  • Is familiar with CRM tools and resources
  • Must be able to master the assigned market segment, service line, and geographic cultures easily
  • Must be proficient at PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other business software
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the building services industry with a focus on service excellence and the competition.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Impeccable credentials of the highest level of integrity, ethics, and honesty

Education and Work Experience

  • Brings to the position at least 3 years of demonstrated sales success in a similar field to Flagship and 5 years of total sales experience is preferred
  • Must have a proven track record of closed deals and sales success from experience
  • Must be able to think strategically and be comfortable with executive communicators
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science and specific sales training post-graduation desired but can be overcome with proven history of experience
