Online Communications Specialist – Development – Corporate

Position Summary

The Online Development Communication Specialist will report to the Online Development Communication Manager. This position provides critical support to senior Development staff in executing and maintaining web and email collateral for major and principal gift solicitations, stewardship, and fundraising efforts. This Development Communications Specialist will be responsible for proposing, refining, launching, monitoring, and optimizing, web page and email content under nyp.org/giving in collaboration with NYP Marketing Web Services, NYP Development’s Annual Fund and Development Communications teams.  The ideal candidate has experience in digital design, communications, email and web content production, mastery in navigating Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Drupal, Piwik, Classy and more online platforms, and can support the Development communications and data analytics teams on tight deadlines and with the highest standards of accuracy and quality, to support an ongoing $2 billion campaign across the hospital enterprise.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Web and Email Design and Content Development

●          Acts as liaison between the department and the content experts in obtaining material for the pages on this site – including gift officers, service line leads, physicians, Regional Hospital colleagues, and others. Assist in the development of communication strategies for give.nyp.org, the Hospital’s fundraising page

  • Updates and edits page copy, graphics, multimedia content, and layout on nyp.org giving pages in collaboration with the Development Communications and Web Services team using Drupal content components or HTML/CSS overrides
     
  • Designs, formats, and/or codes graphics and copy for Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) emails, Cloud Pages, Classy campaign pages, and donation forms in collaboration with digital content teams and external designers to support fundraising campaigns, and crowdfunding initiatives
  • Provides guidelines and documentation on web-based image/graphics/text use on the site pages and emails (sizing, placement, compression, alt-tags) to uphold NYP hospital internet, digital marketing, and web accessibility standards used by the Digital Marketing/Web Services and Compliance teams. Coaches other members of the Development Communications team on email functionality, and best practices in developing web page and print collateral that will translate well online.
  • Collaborate with Online Development Communications Manager, Specialists, and Development Communications Project Manager and other digital teams on cross-team alignment for tasks, projects, processes, and timelines pertaining to online campaigns, email efforts, and web content development initiatives through meetings, and project management software.
     

 Web Analytics

●          Support the Online Development Communications Manager and Data Analytics team on tracking, analyzing web page traffic, and engagement between giving pages and SFMC emails, and other channels using Piwik

●          Implement UTM parameters based on cross-team needs to track multi-channel efforts with the Digital/web teams

●          Develop timely reports and dashboards in Piwik that support the web analytics needs of the Annual Fund, Donor Engagement, Communications and Development Strategy teams

●          Collaborate with Development Communications, Donor Engagement, and Annual Programs teams on targeting segmented audience groups in SFMC

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with website content management systems such as Wordpress and Drupal
  • Ability to edit and write in HTML, CSS, Javascript. Graphic/UX
  • Web Design knowledge with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Canva, and/or other platforms. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail

Preferred Criteria

  • Adept use of project management and collaboration software (Webex Teams, Box, Smartsheet) 
  • Analytical skills pertaining to web content management, email marketing, and digital design
  • Track record of working successfully with colleagues formally and informally, within one's team and across an organization
  • Education in art, digital design, computer science, web development, digital marketing and communications
  • Experience in transferring print collateral into custom landing pages and emails is a plus.
  • Experience in video and multimedia content is a plus.

Salary Range:

$76,000-$88,500/Annual
