1.Seek out new products / vendors to meet business needs - Interface with Engineering/Proto, Layout, Design, Construction, and FM Teams to understand Procurement needs for new / upcoming initiatives or prototype changes. Facilitate sessions with vendors and internal stakeholders to identify cost-effective solutions and products to put forward.
2.Vendor Management – Collect feedback from business partners on vendor performance at all stages of the project lifecycle (design, construction, maintenance), define KPIs and report out on metrics to drive continuous improvement, and serve as the ultimate escalation path when commitments are not met.
3.Execute and Renew Vendor Agreements – Identify key terms and contractual obligations that support the goals of the business. Partner with Strategic Sourcing in architecting sourcing events that comprehensively capture data on pricing, quality, and capabilities in a manner needed to make informed business decisions. Standardize and template agreements where appropriate to drive efficiency and enforcement.
4.Engage with International and US Sourcing - This position will also be engaging with international business partners to understand what products are on the global market, and where it makes sense to engage with Strategic Sourcing to leverage multi-market buys, or where it makes sense to stay in-market due to unique market objectives or limitations.
5.Forecasting – Pricing and consistent supplier service is heavily reliant on accurate forecasting so that external partners can plan resources to meet our needs. This role will need to understand the implications of upcoming initiatives/AOPs on the supplier community, clearly identify lead time challenges with the business and work toward early decisions as necessary, and have a firm grasp on supply chain process in order to identify risk and financial obligations to suppliers in the face of changes or interruptions.
6.Budgeting – Maintain accurate costing records based on agreements in place, as well as SAP actuals. Work within resources on the Procurement Team to reconcile the two on an ongoing basis to identify areas of improvement in order to manage costs. Partner with business leads and the Construction Cost Manager to support accurate project cost modeling and business case development.
7.Manage Procurement Team – Lead the team responsible for engaging suppliers with Purchase Orders and managing the day-to-day operations of ensuring product arrives at projects on time, in full, and within budget. Identify skillsets within the Procurement team to align internal resources with appropriate vendor partners, and coach development through exposure to strategic tasks to foster understanding of the nature and nuance of respective supplier relationships.
8.Systems and Process Improvement - Leverage systems (ie Pulse) and create/maintain processes that drive efficiency, trust, and accountability with suppliers engaging on Walmart Canada projects. Partner with process and analytics team on report / dashboard designs and workstreams that drive performance of the Procurement Team.
