Caterpillar Defense is seeking a Demand & Orders Analyst in Dallas, Texas.  In this role, the Demand and & Order Analyst will support machine, engine, and parts ordering for our CAT Defense customers.


What you will do:

  • Entry and monitoring of sales orders, identifying the key elements and communicate downstream for required actions and collaboration.

  • Processing order change requests from customers, evaluate acceptance of the order change request from a material, production plan, technical and logistics perspective.

  • Serving as primary contact for dealer inquiries; providing feedback about lead time, planned timeline, order change, order reschedules, etc.

  • Aligned customers order with Sales production plan to achieve the monthly goal.

  • Primary contact with other departments to manage sales and customer priorities.

  • Keeping Salesforce and business plan in alignment and communicating changes to the organization.

Team Lead Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Team: Will help train incoming team members, and support workload prioritization and manpower distribution.

  • Identifies Issues: They identify quality, staffing, safety, and production issues and elevate/solution in collaboration with leadership.

  • KPI’s: They own metrics for the given area and are accountable for each operation’s metric accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.


What you will have:
Data Gathering & Analysis: Level Extensive Experience: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

  • Advises on advanced data gathering and analysis methodologies and technologies.

  • Oversees data gathering and analysis activities within the organization.

  • Documents sources and validates the accuracy of data analysis by evaluating the pros and cons of data analysis methods used.

  • Implements procedures and policies within a data processing function.

  • Teaches others how to improve the validity and reliability of data used in various analyses.

  • Evaluates best practices of data gathering and analysis within the industry.


Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Level Working Knowledge: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Contributes to short-term operational plans.

  • Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.

  • Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives.

  • Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.

  • Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility.


Analytical Thinking: Level Extensive Experience: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Seeks discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information; explains variances.

  • Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation.

  • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.

  • Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action.

Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
 

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Order Management Experience: Scheduling, Material, &/or Logistics Planning,

  • Previous experience interfacing with ERP’s:  SAP, CMOPS, EOMP, & Antares

  • Familiarity/ utilization of Salesforce as a CRM tool

  • Preference given to those with APICS CPIM &/or CSCP certifications
