What you will do-

The Senior Operations Manager for the Arlington site will achieve results through others and is responsible for overseeing management of all manufacturing to produce and reprocess medical devices with a focus on quality, delivery and cost. The Senior Operations Manager will develop and direct team resources including recruiting, coaching/development of team to meet operations/customer needs (e.g. training, creation of development plans), directly or indirectly managing activities of team members (and contractors, if applicable), and evaluating performance based on metrics/goals/priorities.

  • Ensure devices are produced at a consistently high level of quality and compliance to applicable regulatory requirements and product specifications utilizing good manufacturing practices

  • Ensure complete compliance to QMS, GMP, and 5S processes

  • Provide strategic planning and tactical direction to the team to meet predefined metrics (e.g. production goals, quality metrics, cost reductions, DII, inventory turns, cycle counts, etc.)

  • Engage in problem-solving in complex situations and process improvements in streamlining work processes

  • Responsible for prioritizing and managing projects of the team to ensure their alignment with Stryker goals and are completed on time

  • Lead and engage the team to build a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, or other methodologies

  • Manage production to assure devices are produced in a timely and cost-effective manner

  • Ensure standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production

  • Ensure fixed assets are preserved and initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property

  • Communicate and interact internally and externally with department leadership of Quality, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, R&D Engineering, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, as well as other internal and external customers and suppliers

  • Manage department budgets, controls expenses, and develops/initiates capital needs

  • Contribute to the coordination, set up, and implementation of standard operating procedures for areas of operations

  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed

  • Responsible for team complying with company policies and procedures

What you need-

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, business, or related degree - required

  • Master's Degree - preferred

  • Ten years related work experience - required

  • Five plus years supervisory/management experience - preferred

  • Project management/Leadership training - preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding and application of QSR/ISO requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to justify, procure and implement major capital equipment programs

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, track and facilitate projects using applicable tools (e.g. Gantt and Pert Charts etc.)

  • Demonstrated computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet database, project management/process flow software)

  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed proposals, guidelines and procedures
