Job Description

Tax Planning

  • Identify and drive tax opportunities/tax incentives within the Group that align with the Government Framework and ensure compliance with the relevant tax incentives

  • Reviewing and understanding key drivers of the Group’s effective tax rate

  • Consulting on intra-group transactions within the Group and coordination and preparation of related transfer pricing agreements and documentation

  • Providing operational tax advice including explaining how new or existing tax rules impact

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement regarding management processes, systems, and documentation

  • Undertake tax risk management exercises and tax-related tax projects

  • Advise of corporate structure for overseas investment from tax perspective

Tax Compliance

  • Managing daily aspects of the direct and indirect tax functions, including but not limited to preparing, and reviewing returns together with tax incentive applications, monitoring compliance due dates, and approving tax payments

  • Liaise with tax authorities for any tax-related correspondence/issues

  • Perform analyses required for tax expense deductibility and tax estimation variance between actual tax liabilities

  • Keep up-to-date with tax developments in the country and ensure that the latest tax changes and new regulations are available on file; ensure proper and effective communication to the organization

  • To be involved in the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation

  • Assist in carrying out any tax-related projects/initiatives on an ad-hoc basis including tax issues arising from compliance/auditing activities or projects as monitoring tax law changes or training 

  • Coordinates or assists with the configuration and troubleshooting relating to direct and indirect tax systems and system implementation

Tax Auditing

  • Managing all tax audits, reviews, and disputes/appeals across the Group including liaison with tax authorities and other relevant authorities

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to develop and implement solutions to various corporate issues and transactions

Requirements:-

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 years of relevant tax working experience

  • With hands-on commercial tax experience direct and indirect taxes

  • Familiar with tax incentive schemes or experience in tax incentive application from regulatory bodies  

  • A fast learner, open to change, and highly adaptable to fast fast-paced and demanding environment 

  • Acquire problem-solving skills with good communication skills
