Overview

Manages the Workday Financials (FINS) and Workday Adaptive Planning modules. Responsible for maintaining and configuring financial systems, standardizing accounting, and finance reporting, implementing new features, and providing critical support to accounting and finance operations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, technical expertise in Workday Financials, and the ability to lead projects and support internal teams effectively.

Compensation Range:$137,800.00 - $183,800.00 Annual

What You Will Do

  • Configures and maintains Workday FINS and Workday Adaptive Planning systems, including updates to account posting rules, ledger accounts, cost centers, spend categories, revenue categories, locations, and projects to ensure optimal system performance and alignment with business requirements.
  • Develops, creates, and maintains standardized reports and dashboards for accounting and finance teams, as well as operational leadership, to provide accurate and timely financial information and insights for decision-making purposes.
  • Manages and oversees small to medium-sized projects across internal teams to implement new features, enhance system functionality, and improve overall performance, ensuring successful delivery and adoption of system improvements.
  • Provides support to accounting and finance teams (i.e. during month-end close and audits) and ensure that staff are properly trained and equipped with the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize and leverage the company's financial systems.
  • Collaborates with Finance leadership to pinpoint opportunities for leveraging technology solutions to optimize workflows and drive process improvements across Finance, Accounting, and other departments within the organization.
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role. Ensures effective staff training, evaluates staff performance, provides input for the development of the department budget and hires, promotes and terminates staff and recommends salary actions, as appropriate.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Workday Certifications in FINS or Planning preferred


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred


Work Experience:

  • Minimum five years of experience working within Finance, Accounting, and/or Financial Information Systems, with a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role required
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Financial Applications (including FINS and Planning). Strong direct experience in Workday. required
  • Management of Workday Adaptive Planning preferred
  • Excellent communication, reporting/analytical and project management skills required
  • Proficient with personal computers, including MS Office Suite required
