We’re looking for an inspiring Volunteering Operations Manager to join Cancer Research UK. You’ll be acting as an advocate for our cause by increasing the breadth and diversity of people who volunteer with us across our community.
You’ll be responsible for the implementation of all identified systems and processes related to the Volunteer proposition, to support the delivery of the shared, audience-led vision, ensuring commercial value. You’ll deliver operational excellence through robust process and system development, as well as identifying and implementing improvements to increase productivity and contribution to deliver on CRUK’s commitment to research.

What will I be doing?
Responsible for the delivery and ongoing improvement of operational processes for the proposition including writing any new processes, being cognisant of the propositions’ role in MFE’s (Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement) portfolio and the part it plays in a supporters’ overall relationship with the charity.
Ongoing management of online forms with Technology and Marketing
Manage key internal relationships with Supporter Engagement and associated processes that are delivered for the proposition by this function including briefing new procedures, understanding performance of delivery and identifying opportunities for improvements.
Managing finance processes for the team.
Accountable for team processes including responsibility for team SharePoint site, team meetings, team onboarding and management of the central inbox.
Bring expert knowledge and insight from the sector, and those we can learn from, to support the wider team.
Be an effective member of the team, line / matrix manage as required and regularly review resource to ensure it is focused on the highest priority areas and is sustainable for future activity.
What are we looking for?
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel desirable
Strong attention to detail with a keen understanding of technical issues and constraints and able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience of managing/matrix managing and coaching others to develop and empower.
Proven ability of implementing new systems/processes to increase efficiencies
Extremely well organised with the ability to co-ordinate multiple initiatives, conflicting priorities with tight timescales and the ability to respond positively to new opportunities and challenges
Experience of Project & Process Management
Experience of managing third party suppliers
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards the team’s collective success. As well as team management and leadership skills.
