Job Summary:
The System Administrator will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations of the server infrastructure by providing proactive monitoring, administration, problem identification & resolution. The candidate would also participate in planning and implementing system automation as well as cloud initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of software automation tools, scripting languages, middleware, operating systems, network protocols and cyber security best practices.
About The Role
• Proactively identify problems through monitoring and other means
• Resolve technical issues relating to Windows servers
• Participate in IT projects and implementation of system automation
• Conduct cyber security audits and recommend improvements
• Provide training and support to junior admins and end users
• Act as an SME SPOC for at least one application or product
• Perform regular backups and restores
• Ensure zero downtime of applications and services
• Planning and implementing system automation tasks
• Plan and implement middleware patch management process
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience
• At least 7 years of experience in handling Windows Server Administration
• Experience with Microsoft Server products such as Windows Server 2016/2019, MS SQL Server 2014/2016/2019
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell Scripting
• Knowledge of VMWare ESXi hypervisor and virtual machine management
• Expertise in backup solutions like Veritas NetBackup
• Experience with middleware products such as IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat etc.
• Strong knowledge of network concepts and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong documentation skills
