Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

A Day in the Life…

Throughout this internship, you will work closely with other engineers to support initiatives that deliver on solutions that drive our Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities for The Walt Disney Family of Companies including: Parks and Experiences, Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, Disney Store, ABC, Star Wars, Marvel, NatGeo, and more. To do this we build and run highly available and globally replicated systems that power each customer's journey across our services and experiences.

You’ll contribute to the development and testing of innovative features for The Walt Disney Company while gaining experience with real-world projects! From participating in code reviews to collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll have a front-row seat to how we create impactful, user-focused digital experiences.

What you will do:            

  • Experience working with Java based systems.
  • Experience working with at least one of the following JVM languages: Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented and/or functional programming best practices.
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies, AWS is preferred.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new technologies.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a keen ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Proficient in writing clean, readable code that follows industry standards.
  • Detailed documentation and able to communicate work clearly.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student in an accredited college/university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:  

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:  You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.  
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from M-F, 40 hours each week for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role in Seattle, WA is $42 per hour.
