  • Perform highly diversified mechanical skills to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems to a component level, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. Interpret diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Detect and report faulty operations and defective material. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Demanding, fast-paced position resulting from deadline pressures, simultaneous competing demands, and changing priorities. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of applied trades training and experience
  • Allen Bradley or other PLC platform knowledge and experience
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and tool room machines and equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and programming robots
  • Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting VFDs, servo drives, temperature controllers, and associated equipment
  • Ability to read complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables
  • Ability to develop engineered solutions to process problems
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Must comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Must have demonstrated full cycle project management skills in support of new product/process development and/or equipment refurbishment, including determination of project scope, procurement, timeline, communication, contingency plans, etc.
