Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports and maintain the general ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

General Accounting:

  • Oversee and perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure proper recording of fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Support management in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation for financial audits and ensure timely responses to audit inquiries.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
  • Streamline accounting procedures and workflows to increase efficiency.

Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in tax planning and research as needed.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Assist in training new employees and promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Support decision-making processes with accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel. Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.   • This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

  • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
