POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for direct assistance with the Corporate Accounting team’s main responsibilities and projects. Duties will include assisting with the development of key business policies and procedures and involvement with monitoring the related enterprise-wide compliance. The role also assists with the review and analysis of monthly internal financial reporting, assignment to lead special accounting projects and data analysis aligned with corporate strategy, assistance with year-end audit preparation (as needed), and other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accounting Analyst will be an integral part of the Acrisure Corporate Accounting team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the review and analysis of internal financial statements to ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
Directly assist in the research and resolution of technical and process related issues identified through review of financial data.
While this role is not directly responsible for month-end close activities, there may be some involvement with preparation/review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Effectively collaborate with other internal Acrisure teams (e.g., FP&A, ABS, Treasury, Internal Audit) to ensure timely and effective completion of assigned priority projects.
Assist in the development, design and maintenance of effective business polices and the oversight process to ensure enterprise-wide compliance and consistency.
Support efforts to monitor and ensure compliance of various enterprise-wide internal controls (e.g., review of journal entries and account certifications)
Involvement with the identification and implementation of opportunities to optimize company policies, processes and internal controls.
Ability to “clean-up” & research issues as needed or on regular basis.
Manage workload to complete all activities accurately and within established timeframes and month-end deadlines

Technical skills to include:
General understanding of GAAP
Ability to research accounting issues with some guidance
Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and general ledger/reporting systems
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA a plus).
Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience including auditing, industry accounting or closing activities.
Insurance industry experience a plus.
