Job Description:

We are looking for a driven, creative, and entrepreneurial Director of Revenue & Commercial Strategy to drive revenue growth and commercial strategy for Disney+ Canada. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in digital advertising, content monetization, and business development within the media or technology sectors. This role will report directly to the VP/GM of Disney+ Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase overall revenue
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams and business opportunities
  • Set and achieve ambitious revenue targets
  • Work with the Product team on product-led initiatives to increase revenue growth
  • Lead pricing decisions and strategies for the Canadian market
  • Collaborate with Platform Distribution partners to optimize distribution and wholesale reach and revenue generation

Ad Sales

  • Lead and expand advertising revenue
  • Cultivate relationships with key advertisers and agencies
  • Oversee the Canadian launch of innovative ad products, platforms and formats
  • Oversee comprehensive ad sales strategy and operations

Commercial Strategy

  • Formulate and execute the overall commercial strategy
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align commercial goals with content, marketing, and product strategies
  • Identify and execute on experiments to inform strategic and tactical decision making

Revenue Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Platform Distribution organization to identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to enhance revenue and market position and manage relationships with existing partners to maximize value in collaboration with Platform Distribution partners

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Engage in ad-hoc financial analysis, including special projects
  • Revenue forecasting and analysis for a range of deliverables such as annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plan, monthly operational reviews and other estimates and presentations as required

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and coach teammates within Disney+ and across the company
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results-driven performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in revenue generating and/or commercial leadership roles
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis and solve problems.
  • Experience interfacing with high level executives, clients and agencies.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, a proactive thinker with the ability to thrive in an often ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity and fluency with digital technology and media industries.
  • Proficient in GSuite and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Required Education:

  • Bachlor's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a similar field
