Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Human Resource Assistant for ASM Jacksonville. Responsible for providing comprehensive support and coordination of the day-to-day operations of human resources ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services, recruitment processes, and the accuracy of employee data records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Human Resource Manager with all aspects of HR procedures and policies within the specified guidelines.
- Provide assistance in monitoring employee performance appraisal process.
- Heavily involved in on boarding from recruiting to new hire orientation. Provide assistance in hiring process activities such as posting jobs on job boards or websites, screening applications, arranging interviews and maintaining a spreadsheet for tracking applicants.
- Providing general support coordinating meetings, preparing reports, composing regular correspondence, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines, and taking down minutes as needed.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and employee training programs. Ensure that all paperwork is filled out properly including W-4’s, I-9, application, direct deposit form and insurance forms. Preparing source documentation needed for new hires, or effective changes in pay, status, or benefits. Conducting background checks as needed.
- Responding to and putting through various queries from managers and employees, and from other agencies or departments.
- Exercising individual judgment while dealing with potential or real troubles on own initiative and bringing them to Human Resource Manager’s attention.
- Preparing paperwork needed to create new employee profile in HRIS system. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database. Creates data and statistical reports and maintains statistical information.
- Assists with benefit administration including enrollment, and cancellation.
- Other duties may be assigned.

- ADP and/ or HRIS payroll systems desirable
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to conduct research and to prepare analyses and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, representatives, and the general public. Remaining flexible and willing to assist employees.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments and provide knowledgeable evaluations and opinions to all levels within the organization.

- Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects. Exercising judgment and initiative.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and use a variety of software applications. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.

- Work independently and as a team while exercising judgment and initiative. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
- Good written, verbal and computer skills.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and court decisions relevant to proper human resource management.
- Knowledge of employee benefits and selection processes.
- Must be able to pass a background check which consists of a credit history report and a motor vehicle report.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and have the ability to be city certified as a driver.
Education and/or Experience
- College course work, with an emphasis in Human Resources related field and two years of Human Resources experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
