General Accountability:
Reporting to the Vice President, Group Functions Technology, the AVP of Group Functions Technology – Audit and Compliance Systems will be responsible for shaping the IT strategy and vision for the Group Functions (GF) Audit and Compliance functions, as well as their associated business units.

Individual Accountabilities:
Direct the function with thought leadership, develops and provides authoritative advice related to new and innovative solutions
Develop a service oriented team and culture across GFT
Add value while ensuring business goals are met
Operate within budget targets
Oversee all IS roles, services, budgets and savings within GFT
Implement IS vision and operating model within GFT
Manage the delivery of services to associated SLAs that enable the achievement of GF business unit goals globally
Manage the relative technology spend ratio between Build and Run
Support compliance to the Group Functions Information Risk Management posture for GF
Execute IS talent strategy and development of IT professionals
Key Shared Accountabilities:
Leveraging technology to optimize efficiencies and standardized business processes.
Drive continuous improvement (i.e. lower unit costs)
In conjunction with the Architecture Office, develop appropriate application architecture standards for GF Audit and GF Compliance and enforce adherence.
Timely and efficient deployment of business applications
Vendor management strategy and execution with BUs and Procurement.
Active participation and input into appropriate Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Information Risk and Security globally for GFT.
Optimize GFT’s budget. Reduce costs and improve efficiencies through continuous improvement for more effective operations, sourcing strategies or business processes. Headcount planning across the areas of accountability and the selection, retention and development of senior level professional staff for the GFT across the Toronto, Waterloo, India and Manila locations.
With a focus on key vendors, leverage global practices to manage GFT vendor relationships in coordination with Procurement and the Category Owners and Managers.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business or related field.
At least 5-7 years of increasing responsibility and experience in managing systems initiatives for audit and/or compliance business partners
Strong relationship management, partnering and collaboration skills to be effective in influencing enterprise stakeholders, excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with senior levels of management as well as being able to operate comfortably at all levels of the organization
Experience in defining and executing Safe Agile Continuous Delivery framework or similar framework to effectively execute project delivery
Direct experience supporting operational teams and service management to achieve operational SLA’s
Experience in designing and building domain specific systems with an ability to execute on rapid prototyping or proof of concept pilots, utilizing AI or other emerging technologies
Understanding of key industry control frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, etc.
Broad knowledge and understanding of systems architecture, infrastructure, security and applications
Ability to interpret and understand Technology Risk policies and standards
Strong technical understanding of enterprise computing solutions including cloud hosting, SaaS models and oversight responsibilities
Demonstrate proactive business judgment and decision-making skills to consistently provide sound and effective business decisions
Understanding of Internal Audit practices and processes
Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously

Salary range is expected to be between
$123,400.00 CAD - $229,300.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact [email protected] for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
