The Portfolio & PMO Lead will lead define and manage several global processes in support of the Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics organization, including but not limited to Portfolio Governance & Resource Management, Solution Governance, organizational ways of working, agile tool implementation (e.g. Jira)

This role will provide strategic direction, oversight, training, and expertise to drive the development/improvement of standard and consistent processes. The team will partner within the department and other Digital teams to optimize and drive a portfolio management capability enabling visibility of project demand, prioritization, capacity planning, cost allocation, leadership reporting, and alignment with company strategies.

This role will serve as the primary liaison to the enterprise Digital Portfolio team to support overall requirements and streamline our organization’s interactions, allowing delivery teams to focus on enabling the business. Likewise, the role will serve as an internal central point of contact, with a pulse on the entire $200M+ portfolio, supplying leadership with relevant information on demand and providing prioritization recommendations. The leader in this role should be attuned to the needs of the Digital organization and partner teams. A successful candidate will have the leadership, vision, and interpersonal skills required to create a collaborative framework through courageous and effective influence among direct and indirect team members.

In parallel, this role will define Key Operational metrics, Customer Satisfaction and standardized reporting for leadership to be able to make strategic decisions about the organization. Responsibilities also include organizational and change management oversight as they relate to our portfolio of projects, governance and reporting.

This role will report to the AI and Data Analytics Portfolio Strategy, AI PMO and Operations lead.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and lead standardized Portfolio and Project Management processes and platforms to manage $200M+ in complex demand across the organization
  • Serve as the primary contact for all processes related to portfolio, including understanding of all tools and anticipating and proactively responding to change
  • Leverage business acumen, professional relationships, and leadership experience to influence decisions ensuring portfolio alignment to and accountability for Pfizer purpose, values, operating principles, and results
  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects in partnership with the leadership team
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in an increasingly complex, innovative, and fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Be a thought leader in process improvement to better meet business needs
  • Setup manage and maintain the tooling and processes required for the entire organization allowing transparent views of all work in process
  • Additional responsibilities specific to each discipline as highlighted below

PMO Management:

  • Lead the development and implementation of AI and data-driven processes to optimize project delivery
  • Establish and uphold organizational standards for project delivery methods including Agile, waterfall, and hybrid approaches
  • Provide visionary leadership in architecting and configuring Jira to fully support diverse delivery methodology needs; serve as trusted subject matter expert and provide ongoing mentoring to teams on enhance productivity and visibility to work
  • Coach teams on following established delivery frameworks, ways of working, and processes to ensure consistency

Portfolio Management:

  • Partner with Solution Delivery teams to streamline project intake, prioritization, governance and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Portfolio Team to represent our organization in all key deliverables
  • Lead Change Management processes to educate and inform the organization on standardized process
  • Lead and develop creation of strategic roadmaps to define the proper path to standardization of the space

Resource Management:

  • Manage resourcing and capacity across teams
  • Ensure resources are aligned to top priority projects, understand asset/project resource projection, and identify opportunities for improvement in cost control and efficiency
  • Develop insights to present to Senior Leadership in order to make impactful decisions
  • Centralize responsibility for the Managed Community of contracted Project Managers and Business Analysts, ensuring the most cost-effective and optimized staffing model for all of AI and Data Analytics team.

Operational Reporting:

  • Interpret divisional strategy and define key performance metrics that align to the strategic goals of the organization
  • Consolidate and oversee all projects and commitments including status, financials, interdependencies, issues and risks, including preparation of portfolio dashboards, metrics and reports and investment recommendations
  • Develop and deliver monthly dashboards to Senior Leadership that demonstrate performance against the strategy, consolidate all metrics by tower in a consumable, format fit for the audience, and to gain new insights
  • Establish Methods to determine Customer Satisfaction and periodic reviews to evaluate the overall benefit of our digital solutions, and identify and eliminate adoption barriers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering
  • Minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated progressive experience as an IT leader
  • Demonstrated understanding and enterprise-scale project and portfolio management skills
  • Experience successfully navigating and leading and managing multiple stakeholder interests
  • Ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interact effectively with all levels
  • Understanding of Operating Model and Governance Processes in large Digital Organizations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written/visual communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent skills in analysis, critical thinking and planning, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation
  • Advanced Jira setup and workflow knowledge
  • Proficiency in the following tools: Jira Align, Microsoft Office Suite, Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $134,300.00 to $223,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
