As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction in an online format, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline.

CEA-517 - Legal Considerations in Christian Education

“This course focuses on legal requirements unique to the Christian school. Emphasis is placed on school governance and the rights and issues associated with employees and students as well as pertinent laws and court decisions that govern Christian schools. Emphasis is also placed on advocacy, trends, the legislative process, and analyzing best practices for various organizational structures of Christian schools.”

CEA-527 - Christian School Finance

“This course focuses on the funding and budgeting of Christian schools. Topics include funding sources, including tuition, capital campaigns, and public funds. Emphasis is placed on ethical and professional behavior in the areas of funding and financial governance in Christian schools. Best practices and sound fiscal approaches to starting, developing, and operating Christian schools are also addressed.”

CEA-537 - Christian Educational Environments and Communities

“This course focuses on the foundations of creating and maintaining a Christian school environment through best practices for various organizational structures of Christian schools. Topics include spiritual practices, managing internal and external stakeholders, conflict resolution, and relational leadership. Emphasis is placed on personal spiritual formation and character development, as well as the creation and promotion of a philosophy of Christian education that is solidly based on biblical principles.”

CEA-557 - Educating from a Christian Worldview

“This course focuses on curriculum and instruction from a Christian worldview. Emphasis is placed on illuminating biblical truth in the overall curriculum planning and daily instruction in academic content areas. Modeling Christlike values and servant leadership on the school campus as well as to the broader community is also addressed.”

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.  Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Doctorate in Educational Leadership or Doctorate in Educational Administration AND valid state principal or supervisor or superintendent certification.
  • Minimum: Masters in Educational Administration or Masters in Educational Leadership or related field AND valid state principal or supervisor or superintendent certification AND exceptional expertise to include a minimum of two items from the following criteria: 1. Is enrolled in a terminal/doctoral degree program with a minimum of 18 credits successfully completed. 2. Has minimum of 4 years experience as a board member on two or more boards related to content areas. 3. Has been recognized with two or more awards for their expertise in content area. 4. Has over 3 publications in peer reviewed journals within the last 7 years. 5. Holds a minimum of 4 years experience in leadership position within their respective professional association. 6. Have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the field for which they would be assigned a course. 7. Hold certifications in their respective content area above and beyond degree credentials. 8. Holds or has held a position as a director or higher (Exec Direct or Assist VP or VP or Superintendent or C-level) in the work setting for a minimum of 8 years in the area related to the course.
  • All instructors must have a minimum of three years of experience as a classroom instructor AND a minimum of three years in a supervisory role to include dean of students or assistant principal or principal or district level administrator AND At least six graduate credits related to organizational and group dynamics or leading change or supervision or educational leadership or principalship or superintendency.
