Job Summary: Provides program management for WellStar Bariatric Surgery program. Interfaces with patients, surgeons and other medical staff, hospital staff, third party payors, accrediting agencyes and public as needed to promote high quality image and ensure smooth operation. Reports to Hospital Administrator or designee. Indirectly reports to Medical Director of WellStar Bariatric Surgery program. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Coordinates with patients at all phases of process (inquiry, education, screening, preoperative, operative, post-discharge monitoring) to ensure high customer satisfaction and optimum outcomes. - Acts as patient navigator through all phases of process. - Troubleshoots any problems presented by patients, medical staff and hospital personnel. - Reviews and adjusts patient accounts to conform to established pricing agreements (Self Pay). - Organizes all educational programs and support group meetings. Provides direct patient education as needed. - Conducts education (group, one-on-one) to ensure positive clinical outcomes. - Identifies educational needs and engages content experts in providing information or speaking at meetings. Responsible for Program development. Assists in establishing and refining overall program structure and processes. - Assists in development and execution of Program Marketing Plan. - Monitors competitive pricing environment, recommending policy for Cash Pay pricing. - Reviews and recommends updates to Policies and Procedures as needed. - Ensures recommended changes are implemented. Oversees clinical organization and performance improvement program and monitoring. - In conjunction with Program Medical Director, establishes benchmark performance standards using external quality data. - Collects and analyzes data. - Makes recommendations - Monitors activity related to Performance Improvement Plans and conducts periodic program management meetings with Medical Director and Hospital Administration. - Organizes, plans and conducts Mutidiciplinary Meetings with Medical Director and Hospital Leadership. - Establishes and achieves Annual Program goals. - Responds to requests from all WellStar hospitals relative to improving care for Bariatric patients. Required Minimum Education: Diploma from an accredited nursing program Required and Bachelor's Degree nursing Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years clinical experience in acute care setting; prefer med/surg experience. Experience in establishing and refining clinical and administrative processes. Required Required Minimum Skills: Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently with miminal supervision; strong interpersonal skills with positive presence; good problem solving skills.
