The Operations Oversight Manager will critically review new and existing business processes to determine the need for and adequacy of key internal controls and be responsible for upward communication and reporting on the control framework.  This role will provide both strategic and tactical insight to Commercial Operations teams as it relates to commercial risk.  This role will lead, advise and/or participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects as it relates to strengthening the internal controls framework for US Pharma.  Comprehensive and holistic data reviews, process improvements, and system recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of US Pharma controls are expected of this role.

  • Act as US Commercial Market Research Subject Matter Expert.  This involves being the vendor management lead, performing Market Research controls testing, aligning with global Market research, and providing day-to-day oversight of US Commercial Market Research risk management.
  • Under the guidance of the strategic lead of the US Commercial Digital Activation Centre (DAC), a governance body providing digital marketing and privacy oversight, embed the work underway transforming this governance body and bring operational excellence from a meeting, documentation, and communication perspective
  • Conduct end-to-end business process reviews to identify key controls, evaluate adequacy of these controls, articulate and prioritize control gaps, and partner with the subject matter experts to develop corrective and preventative action plans to remediate control gaps.  Lead the quarterly management monitoring output reporting for US Commercial
  • Manage and coach analyst roles responsible for Fleet Safety and Sample Compliance.  Work with the matrixed accountable leads in these spaces to ensure alignment and clarity of objectives
  • Leads and/or participates on cross-functional and matrixed project teams to implement new or enhanced controls related to key business processes or systems
  • Establishes and manages effective relationships with other areas in GSK to ensure alignment of controls
  • Influences and negotiates with clients to develop satisfactory solutions necessary to meet compliance and audit requirements
  • Lead/participate in cross functional/departmental teams to fulfill process mapping, perform compliance activities and complete special projects

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BA/BS
  • Experience with audit, privacy, compliance and risk management expertise and secondary knowledge of sales, market research and marketing practices.
  • 8 + years of overall experience with 6+ years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with change and process improvement and simplification initiatives and understands process improvement methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and developing others
  • Positive work ethic and attitude
  • In-depth knowledge of Market Research Practices/Policy and regulatory environment within the Pharma industry
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing and project management skills.
  • Agility in adopting digital tools (e.g., AI, Smartsheets) to increase operational efficiency
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills required to interact with all levels of management for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate independently with a high degree of initiative
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Good problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written to senior management
  • Significant interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate cross-functionally with all levels of internal management as well as external vendors.
  • Ability to present in both 1-on-1 and group situations.
