The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for an experienced sales professional with exceptional communication and client service skills to join our fitness team. This individual will play a critical role in the client’s fitness journey with Medcan by conducting a fitness assessment and advising the client on long-term fitness options at Medcan to help achieve their health and wellness goals. The successful candidate will be a self stater, have a drive for finding the best solution for a client, possess a genuine passion for health and wellness, demonstrate a history of building trusting relationship with clients, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Accountabilities:

  • Provide exceptional client service, build strong client relationships, serve as a brand ambassador.
  • Conduct InBody, Muscle and Joint Fitness testing.
  • Conduct Anthropometric measurements (height, waist, hips, and weight).
  • Update results from the above testing to generate reports for each patient.
  • Provide clients recommendations and corrective exercises based on results.
  • Monitor and facilitate the flow of patients through the Clinic.
  • Be an on-going point of contact for any client that has specific questions based on their report.
  • Coordinate with other clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service and value time to our clients.
  • Achieve and exceed regular monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Follow-up with marketing leads regarding Medcan fitness.

InBody Testing:

  • The InBody body composition machine uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology to measure the clients’ body composition. This equipment is a state-of-the-art BIA body composition testing machine. It gives metrics such as body fat %, muscle mass, visceral fat mass, hydration levels. The printout reports break down lean body mass and body fat mass via specific segments within the body as well. The tester would interpret these results for the client and explain where the client falls in the ‘normal range’ for the age and gender.

Muscle and Joint Fitness Testing:

  • Testing client’s overall muscle and joint health with a series of specific movement screens for:
    • Shoulder and lower body mobility
    • Upper and Lower body functional strength
    • Core strength and endurance

The Requirements:

  • One or more of: Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences, Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion (or related), or Personal Training/Fitness Assessment Certificate.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in sales and client service.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook is an asset.
  • Strong organization and time management capabilities

This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week Monday-Friday at our Toronto clinic located at 150 York Street.
