Summary:

In this role, you will provide contracting and sourcing expertise while leading a team of portfolio executives to enhance supplier relationships, drive member value and meet the goals and objectives of Vizient's PPI Spend Management. You will negotiate national agreements with suppliers, develop new relationships in the industry and build a competitive advantage. You will also lead process improvement projects, strategy development and execution and talent development for a high performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, lead, and execute the strategic direction for the GPO service line, setting priorities and category-specific strategies.
  • Manage a large portfolio of cardiovascular medical device agreements, including new agreements, renewals, and extensions.
  • Develop innovative strategies and leverage supplier relationships to drive growth, address category gaps, and support contracting efforts.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of senior category managers and directors, fostering growth and leadership within categories.
  • Establish high-level engagement with supplier executives and serve as the primary contact for national accounts managers, driving supplier partnerships and enterprise-wide collaboration.
  • Support category managers by developing bid and extension strategies and lead complex negotiations when escalated.
  • Oversee financial analyses, non-financial justifications, and annual sales and revenue budgets for assigned portfolios.
  • Ensure effective implementation and promotion of contract portfolios through coordination of necessary tools and strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine contracting processes, drive clinical innovation, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and leverage Vizient's network to establish partnerships and processes that support organizational success.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred, advanced degree desired.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in health care sourcing or operations required.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Medical device experience preferred.
  • Excellent business and financial insight with ability to quantify challenges and suggest alternative actions.
  • Understanding of project management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with an ability to lead projects.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
