JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide administrative and clinical support in a community-based and/or office-based setting.  Patient care would include taking vital signs, administering injections, providing linkages to services, and confirming prescriptions at the pharmacy. Administrative duties can include answering the phones, scheduling appointments, and completing prior authorizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers injections, completes vital signs, height, weight, and drug screens, and reviews medical instructions with clients.
  • Enters written documentation into electronic medical record in a timely manner for all services rendered.
  • Completes activities necessary to ensure efficient operations of clinic or program, including but not limited to, helping to obtain medications, reviewing and providing medical records to providers, and completing related documentation and authorizations.
  • Maintains linkage with community partners to provide necessary linkages.
  • Works with Centerstone staff to ensure continuity of care for clients.
  • Triage medication and care related calls from clients, families, stakeholders, etc. and coordinates necessary physician involvement.
  • Completes all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance.  Additional training and/or certification may be required based on specific program guidelines.
  • Maintains departmental productivity expectations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with persons with mental health and substance use disorders while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries. 
  • Ability to learn quickly. Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use concerns.  Enthusiastic about influencing positive change in our clients’ lives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level

High school diploma or GED required.

Years of Experience

  • One year of experience in a health care environment preferred. or ability to learn quickly.
  • Formal training as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use concerns. 

Certification/Licensure

  • Medical Assistant Certification through a national credentialing body.
  • Must have a valid FL driver’s license.

Full time

Pay Range:

$15.00--$21.00
