We’re looking for a Payroll Manager to join our People Team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a business that’s experiencing sustained growth, where your expertise will help shape the future of our payroll and reward strategy. In this role, you will manage the payroll process end-to-end for the UK and oversee Irish payroll in partnership with external accountants, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. You will also support data-driven initiatives such as Gender Pay Gap reporting and salary benchmarking, and as we continue to grow, there will be scope for the role to expand into a Reward & Payroll Manager position, taking on broader responsibilities in benefits and reward strategy, allowing you to increase the number of hours you wish to work.

As a Payroll Manager, you will:

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK legislation.
• Oversee Irish payroll in collaboration with external accountants, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and reporting requirements.
• Administer payroll through our ERP system (Workday), including salaries, pensions, statutory deductions, benefits, and starter/leaver processes.
• Maintain data integrity and financial security across all payroll activities.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and variance checks between payroll and HR systems.
• Respond to employee queries regarding pay and deductions promptly and professionally.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies, leveraging automation where possible.
• Support key data projects including Gender Pay Gap analysis and salary benchmarking, providing insights to inform decision-making.
• Use advanced Excel skills to manage, analyse, and present payroll and benefits data effectively.
• Collaborate with the People Team to explore opportunities for expanding the role into reward and benefits administration as the business grows.
• Always maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and organisational requirements.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience managing payroll for a medium-to-large business.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Irish payroll processes and legislation (or willingness to learn).
• Experience with Workday (essential).
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
• High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across the business.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
