Job Description

Responsible for planning ,scoping and defining the technical design, driving execution, and delivery of a software feature, solution, or product. Serves as the bridge between cross-functional teams including marketing, Design, and R&D.  Refines the requirements and distributes work into logical customer valued deliverables, and opportunistically identifies synergies with HP's existing systems.  Responsible for defining the overall approach and architecture and is Accountable for defining the overall quality plan for that feature, solution, or product, and ensuring the on-time release and program delivery, manages resolution of Risks

Responsibilities:

  • Leads portions of the agile planning ( sprint planning ) and execution of multiple complex projects or programs in support of the continuing evolution of the organization's software products.

  • Partners with cross-functional software development teams and helps program management prioritize, plan, track and execute complex, cross organizational programs.

  • Performs program analysis, manages risk, identifies and influences necessary course corrections, and communicates program status and activities across multiple levels of management

  • Works closely at the Asset level to understand the requirements and dependencies along with Product Owner/Manager and helps close gaps / steers closing gaps by doing right collaboration interventions

  • Collaborates with stake-holders at the Program Level and Team and Technical leads and Architects at Project level to establish synergies and makes sure high quality and on time deliveries are achieved

  • Oversees End to End Testing Management Activities as a catalyst at Program Level and raises and tracks issues and gaps in the process

  • Continuously assesses and improves the processes that comprise the software development lifecycle and mentors, other members of the team, to do the same.

  • Manages risks and resolves issues that affect release, scope, schedule, and quality of highly visible, complex agile projects and/or programs

  • Generates and Maintains Program Resource Map , highlights if there is a lack of support , strives to place the system in place for best execution excellence of the program

  • Develops unified communication practices for providing Program status and Execution visibility

  • Helps and Supports Management for Resource Management which includes human/infra/initiatives)

  • Helps and Supports Management for non functional aspects such as Security, Infrastructure, Operational and Customer Support

  • Knows and works on IT governance aspects that revolve around the work periphery ( Document/Implement/Improve)

  • Participates in establishing Program Execution Model using SAFe and Agile principles and educates the stakeholders on right program practices as comes


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Comprehensive experience in planning/developing/delivering software products using agile development practices.

  • Expertise in managing cross-organizational software development projects from initiation through delivery.

  • Hands-on experience with developing and reporting on metrics for engineering development.

  • Analytical and problem-solving experiences with large-scale systems.

  • Experience with a controlled software release process involving a product lifecycle management tool.


Scope & Impact:

  • Acts as an expert lead within the program management practice.

  • Directly influences the nature of the work delivered.

  • Takes responsibility for code and overall delivery quality.

  • Impact of decisions can often alter program timelines by multiple quarters.

  • Programs are typically cross-functional and involve multiple related software engineering teams

  • Touch bases and tracks all functions and stakeholders for program delivery and acts in the best interest of the Agile and SAFe delivery of the product/platform


Complexity:

  • Moderate to high


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically, 12+ years of total experience and 7-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Preferable experience doing Program Management for Cloud and Microservices based platform/product

  • Conversant/Have worked in Agile and SAFe deliveries

  • Efficient in Context Management, Switching, Stakeholder communications, Driving and Execution, Planning Deliveries, Capacity management, Team Management and Agile program Track

  • CSM certification is desired / Agile planning experience is must
