Operations Optimization and Enablement
OOE is a newly formed team designed to drive change and implement Operations strategy. Operations is helping to lead the Citi transformation agenda by rapidly scaling programs of work which will redefine core operations architecture and the processes they support.
One key element of the OOE is Strategic Ledger – The goal of the Strategic Ledger Program is to implement a new global financial accounting and general ledger platform that provides a daily ledger in every legal entity. A single, universal Ledger with a unified chart of accounts, reducing approx. 250 accounting engines to 10-20 accounting hubs. We will establish a single global Ledger operating model and end-to-end business process automated through Oracle, replacing multiple manual processes. Migrating from ~100 ledgers and ledger standards today with a single global Citi ledger design template, initially rolled out in CBNA London Branch, before expanding to EMEA, Asia, LATAM and NAM. The program will run through to the end of 2030. Operations will be part of the end-to-end process and the OOE team will be the focal point to define, establish, and implement best in class operational capabilities aligned to the future state architecture, notably an intraday cash subledger which will service both internal and client cash requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate and articulate the operations strategy, vision and implementation for the strategic ledger program, with specific focus on April 2025 deliveries for CBNA London branch and release 2 (EMEA) and 5 (NAM) discovery phase.
Drive best practice execution and promote standardization and consistency across wider operations organization.
Lead future state design and architecture discussions to drive optimal end to end implementation, collaborating across enterprise vertical reporting lines.
Act as Operations-of-last-resort in impact assessment and completeness of end-to-end environment.
Execute on centrally owned tasks, facilitate execution across wider Operations teams and provide holistic status updates across Operations to program governance forums.
Ensure any process and technology implementation for the strategic ledger implements end-to-end process solutions meeting Operations’ outcomes:
Safe, well controlled environment – control framework, which is complete, timely, accurate and manageable.
Efficient and highly automated – emphasis on STP; no increase in manual work; exception-based processing
Simplified and consistent end-to-end process with clear roles and responsibilities across Operations and Finance
Client-centered, evolves towards same day / real-time operations and visibility (reporting) for Treasury, Operations and clients.
Functionally complete, supports both product-level and legal-entity level views
Extensible design to accommodate future change.
Qualifications:
12-15 + years of experience:

Technical Skills:
12-15 + years of experience:
Domain expertise: Across Operations and Finance functions and tools. Expert knowledge in end-to-end transaction lifecycle process.
Change management: Large, complex implementations and transformation program expertise in finance and or operations.
Data Migration: Extensive knowledge in migration techniques and tools to ensure seamless transition of data from legacy to new GL platform.
Process Improvement: Extensive knowledge of process improvement with a proven track record of streamlining operational process.
General ledger Expertise: Deep understanding of GL, systems, their functionalities, and best practice implementing.
Business Knowledge: Deep knowledge of both Markets and Banking products from transaction booking to cash settlement and controls therein.
Vendor Management: Strong Experience in managing software vendors and 3rd party consultant teams.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to align operational process with organizational strategies, with experience in strategic planning and execution.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
