About you and this Role:
As a HR Partner at Dow, Chennai, your role brings value to the organization by working with client groups to understand Site, Function and Country needs. The successful incumbent must be a credible HR partner, skilled at communicating at various levels of the organization. You will also be responsible for the people activities in compliance with local labor legislation. 

In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your HR Partnering discipline. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You will also lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others.

You are accountable to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Your role requires a proven track record of approaching and resolving issues and tasks with a strategic mindset and intent is absolutely essential to successfully partner with Leadership on site and support employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support across the site and other areas within the Country
  • Partners with Leaders to deliver people priorities aligned to the global and local functional people strategy
  • Advise People Leaders to ensure the people agenda is aligned with employee and local labor relations
  • Applies and advises on relevant local law and regulations related to employee and labor relations
  • Fulfill local labor compliance work that is not delivered from centralized HR solutions team
  • Provide feedback to HR Solutions regarding local implementation employee/labor relationship issues
  • Resolve complex problems by applying in-depth strategic, conceptual and working knowledge of HR partner processes and with at least intermediate knowledge of all other HR disciplines
  • Lead or participate in country or regional projects and/or steps of projects with manageable risks and resource requirements and may be accountable for ongoing activities or objectives
  • Serves as resource for less experienced colleagues and works independently with minimal guidance
  • Understands best practices and how HR processes relates to others
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information and handles sensitive people issues and works to build consensus
  • Analyze and resolves complex problems
  • Examines information from multiple sources and uses judgement to evaluate established and new solutions
  • Performance impacts a range of clients, projects, or activities within own team and other related teams
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of Company specific HR policies, practices & procedures
  • Demonstrates and advocates the Company’s “OneHR” model to ensure seamless delivery of  end-to-end HR support.
  • Collaborates closely with HR Solutions to address and resolve any tasks and/or issues identified.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Human Resources
  • 8 + years of experience as an HR Partner / Consultant
  • Experience in a multi-national organization is critical

  • Ability to think and act strategically to support the function in all employee related matters
  • Management of multiple stakeholders at a global, regional and local level
  • Handle conflict resolution and the ability to lead courageously in difficult situations
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop solutions even when there is lack of clarity
  • Have a result and solutions oriented approach
  • Possess a global mindset when managing and addressing issues
  • Have a proven track record in Labor Relations including a strong knowledge on labor compliance and labor relations.

  • Relocation support is not available for this role.
