Job Summary

The following is a brief description of the primary elements of this job and is not intended to be all inclusive. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: electrical fabrication, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical circuits from 5 volts to 4160 volts. Installation, maintenance and repair of electronics, PLC’s, and machine controls Plant wide. Repair and maintenance of Plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Work with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools. Use of welding and cutting equipment. Knowledge of various Shop Equipment. Works with oils and lubricants. Performs work that requires specialized experience and training related to skilled trades.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform skilled work in making mechanical/electrical repairs to plant equipment and systems.
  • Available for overtime and callouts
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds unassisted, climb ladders, etc.
  • Able to wear a Respirator and all required PPE for Batch House
  • Able to perform electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Must be able to work at heights over 150 feet.
  • Must be able to use cutting torch and stick weld.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat during Furnace hot repair.
  • Follow all other instruction given by management.
  • Be able to interpret electrical / mechanical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment, including starter repairs, motor replacements, photo-eyes, and inverters, as well as plant inspection equipment, carton equipment, and palletizing equipment.
  • Perform infrequent welding, brazing, cutting, and soldering as required to maintain Plant equipment and facilities.
  • Use hand tools, some power tools, some testing equipment, and shop tools.
  • This job requires covering vacations as needed. This position involves covering weekends as needed.
  • Employee will be used to follow up on job changes.
  • Employee will be responsible for starting compressors, vacuum pumps, and related equipment after power failures.
  • Keeps work area clean using good work methods and ethics.

  • Be able to interpret electrical / mechanical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot PLC’s, use Laptops to diagnose, change, or install new programs.
  • Make repairs and maintain inspection equipment, single line equipment, conveyors, case packers, carton machines, palletizers, and related select and pack equipment.
  • Set up and make changes to the set-up of inspection equipment as required to maintain quality production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including starters, motor replacements, photo-eyes, and inverters, as well as plant inspection equipment, carton equipment, palletizing equipment, and Batch & Furnace equipment.
  • Perform infrequent welding, brazing, cutting, and soldering as required to maintain Plant equipment and facilities.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment including voltage and amp meters, and shop tools.
  • For continuity of operations and maintenance of the plant this job requires (as needed) covering vacations, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employee may be used to follow up on job changes.
  • Employee may be responsible for starting compressors, vacuum pumps, and related equipment after power failures.
  • Must be able to work a 7-day shift rotation (8 hour shifts) 7A-3P-3P-11P-11P-7A
  • Keep work area clean using good work methods and ethics.
