Reports to ERP Programme Director
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Learning Designer/Trainer to join our team and drive the development of engaging, effective, and impactful learning experiences. The Learning Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), and other key stakeholders to design, develop, and implement innovative training programs, eLearning modules, and blended learning solutions. These solutions will be focused on supporting and enhancing learner outcomes for the Workday programme across HR and Finance.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning, a strong background in instructional design principles, and the technical skills to bring learning strategies to life. This role is part of our Programme team but will provide the role holder the opportunity to lead a key training programme end to end from taking a Training needs analysis to develop and then delivering content working with Implementation partner and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Needs Analysis & Consultation:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders such as our implementation partner to take the Training needs analysis which has been developed, understand it and identify learning objectives, and understand target audiences and personas.
- Recommend appropriate learning modalities and strategies to meet business goals and address learner needs
Content Development:
- Create instructional materials, such as storyboards, scripts, slide decks, assessments, Quick reference guides and facilitator guides working closely with internal and external stakeholders e.g. our implementation partner.
- Develop multimedia assets (e.g., videos) using tools like Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise and Vyond).
Instructional Design:
- Review existing Workday community materials together with SMEs to determine which existing materials are appropriate for different personas.
- Design interactive and engaging content for various formats, including eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), and knowledge articles and/orblended learning tailored to the Aztec context and organisational requirements using existing materials which are available where possible and aligned to best practice.
Evaluation & Improvement:
- Rollout and analyse surveys, and other evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of Workday learning programs.
- Continuously gather feedback and use analytics to improve and optimise training materials.
Ability to manage multiple priorities:
- Manage multiple project activities simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate with SMEs, team members, and external vendors to align deliverables with project goals and timelines.
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
- Demonstrate knowledge through direct experience, proficient in software applications
- Previous design and training experience
- Previous experience as a learning designer demonstrating a track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques and evaluation methodologies
- Excellent oral/written communication skills, including experience with presentation tools like PowerPoint and/or desk top publishing software; high energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including influencing, and relationship-building across functions
- Ability to work with management to align learning/leadership development with succession planning initiatives
- Must be able to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively to manage a demanding time schedule
