SUMMARY
The Rakuten Rewards Brand & Creative team is looking for a Director of Social Media (owned) and Influencer Marketing. This important role focuses on growing our social communities and developing and executing a comprehensive social media and influencer strategy that will drive relevance, engagement and consideration for our brand. We are seeking a thought leader in this space who combines creativity with analytical expertise to spearhead our efforts across all social channels. This person will be the global center of excellence for owned social media and brand influencer. He/she will directly lead the US team as well as provide expertise, guidance and brand stewardship to the team in Canada, UK and future new markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic vision and execution of social media and brand influencer strategies that are aligned with overall marketing goals and programs; including channel playbooks, content calendars and learning/measurement plans.
Global Collaboration: Partner with social media leads in Canada, UK and future international markets to ensure global social media and brand influencer excellence, including finding ways to drive efficiency by leveraging US strategies and assets when applicable.
Agency Partnership: Lead the partnership with Influencer marketing agency to develop, execute and measure Influencer programs in key moments throughout the year.
Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze campaign performance to refine strategies, optimize budget spending, and evolve content creation; share out regularly with broader team.
Creative Briefing: Write clear briefs to the Creative team for content development.
Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with teams (e.g. Partnerships, Referrals, etc.) within the organization with social media and/or influencer strategies and content that contributes to their respective goals and programs.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for all social platforms and social tools, driving leadership, new ideas and team education. Build relationships with key social media platforms and partners to stay up to date on the latest innovations and best practices in creative execution.
Trend Monitoring: Keep abreast of the latest trends in social media and influencer marketing, regularly sharing with the broader team to inspire content creation.
Process Adaptation: Adapt process and resources for content development as needed in partnership with Creative and Operations stakeholders.
Team Management: Lead and manage a team dedicated to social media and influencer marketing, setting clear goals and fostering professional growth.
Budget Management: oversee the budget for content creation, paid boosting and brand Influencer marketing ensuring efficient use of resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Ability to think both creatively and analytically
Strong cross functional collaboration skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pop culture lover and enthusiast
Proficient in social media analytical tools
Global experience a plus
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
At least 10 years in social media and influencer marketing either at an agency or brand side
Expertise in all major social media platforms
Experience managing team members

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
