Manager, Strategic Long Range Planning

As a Manager of the Strategic Planning team, you are responsible to support the creation, optimization, and approval of Micron's Strategic and Long Range Operational Plans.  This includes driving alignment on key strategic assumptions including: Fab ramp and corridor sizing, Technology Roadmap and product site strategy with longevity support, determining Assembly Test Loading and Geographic Sensitives, and alignment on Micron Operational and Business Growth Strategies. 

 You will partner with stakeholders in Corporate Strategy, Fab Central Planning, Assembly Test Central Planning, Technology Development, Technology and Product Groups, Sales and Operations Planning, Business Units, and Finance in driving these strategies.



This role will be primarily responsible for guiding and managing the Mexico based team of Strategic Planners within IBP and POM organizations. You will be responsible for KPIs pertaining to Micron’s New Product Introduction and Strategic planning processes. This role requires someone with a good executive presence, strong analytical skills and business acumen.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Participate in roadmap planning and design review forums to ensure alignment to company strategies.  Including: Roadmap change alignment, DiD site strategy and determining when a 2nd site is required, and ensuring DID loading is in alignment to legacy strategy and overall EOF strategy
  • Conduct data analysis to support strategy development and provide recommendations to ensure operationally robust portfolios that can withstand demand and supply fluctuations and changes in geographic sensitivities in monthly operations planning process.
  • Perform efficiency vs flexibility of demand studies and provide guidance on DiD roadmap proposals (# of DiD's, placement of DiD's, and desired flexibility).
  • Perform analysis on Product and Technode specification data, including Memory die size, Density, and Technology Bit Growth, Cadence, Cost of Transition, and Space Trade Ratios.  Explore trends or patterns in data, including Yield, Ramp profile, Product and Customer Qualifications for DRAM and NAND technologies and product solutions to drive future roadmap and operations strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects, communicate and document timelines for progress and delays, manage review meetings among several work groups, perform root-cause analysis using techniques like PDCA, Pareto, 5-Why and enabling change management on strategies.
  • Perform data analysis and provide meaningful recommendations for Front and Back-end manufacturing site strategy on Technology and Product Portfolio Management decisions.
  • Maintain existing models and support creating new operation models and data analytics to drive making strategic decisions and alignment of key initiatives
  • Identify process inefficiencies and contradictions and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement efforts to address the gaps
  • Lead discussions in weekly review stakeholder groups to drive mutual understanding of gaps and alignment and strategic and long range planning
  • Identify opportunities to study and perform analysis on what-if scenarios to support operational flexibility and business growth strategies.

Experience

Prior experience within Operations and Business planning preferred.
