Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (P3) to join our Industrial Robotics team and play a key role in integrating ADI’s vision sensor solutions into different Robotics platforms.

In this role, you will work hands on with Embedded Linux, camera sensor integration, device driver development, and customer platform debugging, collaborating closely with Firmware, Applications, and Systems teams. You will help deliver robust, production ready vision solutions used by customers across industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software for industrial vision cameras and sensors on customer platforms
  • Own Linux device driver development for camera sensors and related peripherals
  • Contribute to ADI SDK development, including APIs, libraries, reference software, and example applications
  •  Perform camera sensor and camera system integration, including sensor bring-up and validation
  •  Integrate and debug MIPI CSI‑2–based vision sensors on Embedded Linux platforms
  • Work on Embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA (Jetson), Raspberry Pi and NXP (i.MX), as well as Qualcomm
  • Perform hands on debugging on customer platforms, diagnosing and resolving issues across software and hardware
  •  Debug camera bring-up and runtime issues using logs, traces, and lab tools
  • Understand and use board level schematics to debug hardware–software integration issues
  • Work with SPI and I²C for sensor configuration, control, and register access
  • Collaborate closely with Firmware, Applications, and Systems teams to deliver complete customer solutions
  • Support customer enablement through reference software, integration guidance, and technical troubleshooting

Required Technical Capabilities (Must Have)

  • Strong experience with C/C++ in embedded systems
  • Experience with GitHub and AI agents - for development and debug
  • Strong technical oral and written communication skills
  • Hands‑on experience with Embedded Linux, including:
    • Linux kernel configuration
    • Linux device driver development
    • User space application development
  • Proven experience in camera sensor and camera system integration
  • Handson experience with MIPI CSI-2 for vision sensor integration
  • Experience developing on Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Raspberry Pi and/or NXP platforms
  • Solid understanding of SPI and I²C protocols and their use in sensor integration
  • Strong debugging skills, including:
    • Root cause analysis across Linux, drivers, SDKs, and hardware
    •  Debugging directly on customer platforms
    • Ability to read and understand board level schematics and hardware documentation
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

Desirable / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Qualcomm platforms for camera sensor integration
  • Familiarity with Linux camera frameworks (V4L2, GStreamer, vendor stacks)
  • Experience with ISP pipelines, multi‑camera systems, or camera synchronization
  •  Exposure to industrial or machine vision systems
  • Experience contributing to customer facing SDKs or documentation

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related discipline) with 5+ years of experience.
  • Significant industry experience in embedded software development, with demonstrated impact on complex products.
  • Hands‑on, practical experience is required; this role is not suitable for purely academic backgrounds.

At ADI, a P3 engineer is expected to:

  • Act as a go to technical expert in their domain.
  • Work independently on complex, high impact technical challenges.
  • Influence technical direction across projects or teams without formal authority.
