2020 Companies is seeking a results-driven Business Intelligence Project Manager-Analyst to lead the creation of impactful client reporting and dashboard solutions. You'll work closely with clients to understand their needs, transforming complex data into actionable insights that power their business decisions.  You'll manage the entire lifecycle of BI projects, orchestrating stakeholders, BI engineers, and internal teams to create dashboards, reports, and data that perfectly align with client specifications. This is a hands-on manager position and requires people management experience.

Job Description:

Client Success Champion: 

  • Conduct consultations with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business goals, challenges, target audiences, data requirements, and desired reporting outcomes. 

  • Translate client requirements into detailed technical specifications for dashboard and report development, ensuring solutions effectively address core business needs and ensure requirements traceability. 

  • Engage and negotiate requirements and win-win deadlines with clients and internal teams to ensure the growth of the business.  

  • Proactively present clients with innovative visualization ideas, solutions, insights, recommendations, and cutting-edge analytics techniques to enhance the value and insights provided.  

Process and Project Management: 

  • Manage the full lifecycle of BI projects, from initial client needs assessment and requirements gathering through to solution design, development, testing, deployment, user training, and post-implementation support.  

  • Develop detailed project plans for BI initiatives, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk assessments to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality BI solutions. 

  • Take steps to improve business and development processes to shorten the time to delivery of BI solutions. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success, addressing and overcoming challenges swiftly.  

  • Coordinate internal teams, including stakeholders, cross-functional partners, BI engineers, data analysts, and IS, to align with project goals and deliverables.

Data Visualization, Analysis, and Reporting: 

  • Leverage your expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to design compelling and intuitive visuals using Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint to effectively communicate key trends, metrics, and insights. 

  • Select appropriate chart types, color schemes, and formatting to highlight the most critical data points and facilitate quick understanding. 

  • Ensure dashboards are interactive and user-friendly, allowing clients to drill down, filter, and explore data with ease.  

  • Analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights and trends. 

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and dashboards.

Data Integration and Quality: 

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the data required to develop BI solutions. 

  • Identify and integrate data from diverse sources, including internal databases, third-party systems, web analytics, and client-specific data feeds. 

  • Implement rigorous data quality checks and validation procedures to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of reporting. 

  • Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to seamlessly consolidate data for reporting purposes.  

Team Management 

  • Supervise and work closely with BI analysts, developers, and data engineers to implement reporting solutions, provide guidance, and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions meet client specifications. 

  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing status updates and addressing any issues or risks. 

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing your knowledge of client reporting and effective data visualization techniques. 

Strategic Advisor: 

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in data visualization, business intelligence, and client reporting to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

  • Conduct regular reviews of current client dashboards, proactively recommending enhancements, new visualizations, and additional analytical approaches. 

  • Educate clients on best practices in data-driven decision-making, empowering them to fully leverage the insights provided.  

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in business intelligence or analytics roles such as BI Project Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role, with a proven track record of creating effective client-facing reports and dashboards. 2+ years of proven experience as a people manager

  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar), SQL, and data warehousing concepts. Experience with ETL processes a plus. 

  • Client Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stay calm under pressure and translate client requirements into technical specifications and deliver user-friendly solutions. Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. You can quickly identify patterns, trends, and anomalies from complex data sets. 

  • Proactive and Detail-Oriented: Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. You have meticulous attention to detail and focus on delivering high-quality results. While you’ll have experience with project management methodologies and tools, preference will be given to those proficient with agile methods.
