The Military Family Life Counseling Program (MFLC) is seeking an experienced Data Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain our data solutions in support of our business intelligence and analytics operations that turn data into knowledge.  This position will work with various systems from which to derive data, including SharePoint and data sources in an AWS environment.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and optimizing data quality, data pipelines, ETL processes, and database systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data warehouse structures

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes

  • Optimize database performance and scalability

  • Collaborate with data analysts and developers to meet reporting needs

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8 ) years of experience in data science, data analytics, systems engineering, or related fields.

  • Extensive experience building and managing relational data warehouses.

  • Must be proficient in MySQL.

  • Must have strong SQL skills and database optimization techniques.

  • Experience with ETL tools and processes 

  • Must have experience with Python and/or other scripting languages.

  • Knowledge of data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts.

  • Understanding the purpose and ability to design various types of fact tables.

  • Must have CDC (Change Data Capture) experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Superset and Power BI

  • Familiarity with other AWS services

  • Understanding of Message Queues 

  • Experience with Flink or similar

  • Experience with Pinot or similar

  • DBT Experience

  • Spark/Iceberg Experience

  • Java, Scala, or Kotlin

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
