Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Manager, Event Finance Operations to join our Global Events & Experiences team. This role will oversee all aspects of event financial operations including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting across our events portfolio. Key responsibilities include developing and refining financial best practices, generating and analyzing financial data, preparing and submitting comprehensive forecast and reconciliation reports, monitoring industry trends, and conducting regular assessments to ensure compliance and efficiency. This position will play a critical role in optimizing event performance and ensuring financial accuracy.

The ideal candidate will be a certified finance professional with 5-8+ years of enterprise finance operations experience and a track record of success leading accounting for large-scale technology events. You will report to the Director of Operations, Global Events & Experiences.

This is a remote position in the United States (west coast preferred).


Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a cost-control environment, ensuring budget alignment, accurate financial forecasting with risk and opportunity identification and variance analysis to prevent post-event surprises

  • Lead process improvements for financial reconciliation and implement standardized policies and procedures for event-related accounting and legal compliance

  • Collaborate with the Head of Events & Experiences and leadership to manage department spending, create consistent forecasting, and provide budget performance insights

  • Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing, Data & Privacy, and Finance teams to ensure timely execution of RFPs, vendor onboarding, contracts, and payments

  • Fully manage the forecast and reporting of our contra expense, including sponsorship and registration revenue

  • Oversee submission and tracking of PRs, POs, invoices, and change orders to ensure timely payments

  • Track vendor performance, review forecast-to-actuals data, and prepare weekly financial reports for leadership and stakeholder meetings

  • Support the Event Sponsorship team throughout the sponsorship lifecycle, from package setup to payment reconciliation

  • Stay current on industry trends in event financial management and adapt to internal process changes affecting the event portfolio

  • Partner with hiring managers and the People team to ensure timely processing of new hire and contractor paperwork

  • Track program expenditures in marketing systems and collaborate with Marketing Operations and Data Operations teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • 5-8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or budget management within events, preferably in enterprise software companies

  • Proficient in technology platforms such as Allocadia, Ariba, PowerBI, and other enterprise-level financial and reporting systems

  • Strong financial and forecasting skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tight timelines

  • Willingness to travel ~ 3-5 times per year to support event operations on-site

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $138,200 and $223,630. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
