Job Summary:

This role will own all Financial Planning and Analysis for the 1 MG.   This included the traditional items such as working with the 1 MG Operations Leaders to develop the overall Annual Budget – I&E and Capital, 5 Year Plan, forecasts and other business performance reports and analysis as needed.     This includes partnering with Revenue Cycle understand the quality Professional Collections and drive improvements. Additionally, this role determines budget, and reporting needs and delivers the strategy and tactics to meet those needs. Develops and maintains process for department/division monthly operating reviews for EHMG. Collaborates with the System Vice Presidents of Primary and Specialty care to identify operational and financial issues and partners with them to develop actions to improve management controls, profitability, and processes. Reviews or prepares all relevant financial information and financial analysis to determine and report on financial status, financial trends, cash flow, and the like.  Reviews or prepares financial proforma analysis to determine the financial feasibility of projects and makes recommendations on the viability of the project.  Ensures the efficient flow of information to support financial decisions, reporting, and business planning efforts. Implements cross-functional and multi-disciplinary initiatives to improve results based upon opportunities identified during review of productivity information and monthly operating reviews by using process management tools and methodologies that drive efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Ensures optimal effectiveness of budget and financial reporting systems.  Oversees the effective and timely distribution of accurate budget and financial information to EHMG Leadership Team and Endeavor Finance.

  • Leads the operating and capital budget process for the EHMG across the entire MG including analysis, reporting, and recommending strategies to achieve goals.   Engages with EHMG System Vice Presidents and EHMG Vice President of Finance to address division and program wide budgets and financial reporting.   Leads the operating and capital budget process for EHMG and the Leaders specified including analysis, reporting, and recommending strategies to achieve goals

  • Collaborates with leaders to address financial and utilization opportunities and implements strategies to achieve EHMG and organizational goals.

  • Coordinates with decision support to ensure the overall data integrity of reports, analysis and summaries generated by budget and financial reporting systems, with a primary focus data derived from EPIC such as RVU’s and visits. Develops procedures and audits to ensure data integrity is maintained.

  • Ensures variances are researched, analyzed and any necessary adjustments are made to ensure goals are achieved.

  • Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for improvement and educates operational leaders on financial reporting with the goals of improving financial acumen, accomplishing improvements, and building capacity of others.

  • Assists in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing process in partnership with the Controller and Vice President Finance for EHMG. 

  • Coordinates with decision support to drive enhancements to reporting of KPI’s from EPIC to drive understanding of EHMG. 

  • Responsible for developing processes to meet operational goals for supported divisions and identifies corrective actions and making changes to ensure goals are achieved.

  • In coordination with the Vice President Finance, identifies financial improvement opportunities across EHMG and ensures results are tracked toward established goals.

  • Responsible for the training and professional development of staff.  Also, Training of MG Operations on reporting tools.  Ensures cross-training opportunities are built into department strategy to establish depth of knowledge and flexibility in staff utilization.

  • Acts as a key resource to operational leadership, other MG personnel, management team, and external parties by answering general questions and assisting in the resolution of problems.  Investigates, researches, and resolves complex, confidential, and technical issues and problems.

  • Interviews, hires, orients, trains, evaluates the performances of and, when necessary, disciplines and/or discharges department personnel.  Provides direction, as necessary, to staff regarding sensitive and/or complex work, related problems, resolves complaints and responds to inquiries regarding department operations.

  • Takes initiative and ownership of issues, is responsible, organized, efficient, and focused on goals. Consistently follows through on commitments and gets results.  Able to think outside of current practices, roles, and conditions to creatively generate new possibilities for solutions, expectations, and efficiencies.  Exercises a high level of confidentiality and sound judgment in accessing, using, and sharing sensitive information.

  • Ensures team provides quality customer service.  Proactively anticipates customer needs and ensures the team is providing clear, concise analytical data that is user friendly and easily understood.  Thoroughly understands source of data and can easily explain how and why the information was derived and manipulated.

  • Fosters innovative thinking and functions as a change agent to facilitate greater efficiencies, higher quality output and improved customer service.

  • Conducts special analyses and projects as assigned, and prepares reports detailing the findings for Vice President Finance, EHMG.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Experience: 8-10+ years experience supporting financial planning and analysis or business performance assessments and support.
