General task of Payment Operation Team is participation in continuous and accurate processing of domestic and cross-border payments initiated or received by our clients. The Team is also responsible for local regulatory reporting related to payments and for participating in system developments affecting their processes. The Team supports co-units in payments related matters (knowledge transfer, trainings, information sharing).

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and applying comprehensive knowledge of the products handled by the team (understanding domestic and cross-border payment processes)
  • Handling payments related to complex queries received from co-units as well as managing investigations related to all payment types managed by the team, completing the prescribed controls, observing and ensuring compliance and quality standards
  • Timely escalation of issues to prevent or minimize the negative consequences or losses, tracking errors or process weaknesses, suggesting enhancements or/and corrective actions where possible
  • Execution of daily reconciliations, identify and managing settlement transactions related to open items including preparation of statistics and reports
  • Active participation in projects aiming implementation of new products and processes, or redesign of existing processes, acting as single point of contact in projects and developments affecting the area (defining requirements, testing, evaluating, providing feedback)
  • Cooperation with Legal and Compliance departments, addressing queries and instructions received from domestic external partners (co-banks and authorities)
  • Working occasionally at weekends and public holidays for testing purposes

Qualifications:

  • High school graduation exam required, degree in finance or economics will be an advantage
  • Relevant experience in processing payments
  • Banking background preferred
  • Knowledge of domestic and/or cross-border settlement systems (VIBER, SWIFT, SEPA) and/or knowledge of financial institution legislation will be an asset
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in Hungarian and English
  • Investigation skills including problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows (word, excel etc.)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, stress resistance
