We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to take on the role of Chapter Lead - Workplace Identity. In this pivotal role, you will combine your technical expertise in identity services with exceptional leadership skills to develop the capabilities of individuals within the chapter and drive strategic initiatives. This position will predominantly be based at Commonwealth Bank's state-of-the-art Eveleigh office, though flexible working conditions and hybrid working environments are also available.

As a Senior Engineer Manager, you will be leading engineering individuals that report to you, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working. You'll also play an important role in the Regulatory & Control Operations (RACO) leadership team, steering the organisation by contributing to the strategy and determining which problems to invest in solving. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical knowledge to this team and will be responsible for shaping its evolution

We’re interested in hearing from people who:
Technical Leadership: Provide thought leadership and technical mentorship for the team. Design and implement simple solutions to complex problems, including retiring and removing obsolete systems architecture.
Chapter Management: Lead the chapter and develop the capability of individuals within the chapter. Manage performance and talent processes, including onboarding, hiring, skill building, career development, coaching, and performance management.
Strategic Initiatives: Take technical ownership of key strategic initiatives to drive positive outcomes. Lead complex deliverables and solution planning, ensuring alignment with broader direction and strategy.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a team spread across multiple countries, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, learning, and problem solving.
Continuous Improvement: Seek data and feedback to inform metrics and leverage these to support continuous improvement efforts in partnership with the Chapter Area Lead.
Tech skills
Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (AAD), Modern Authentication and Authorisation protocols.
A solid understanding of general IAM principles and the Microsoft Identity ecosystem.
Strong scripting and development skills, with the ability to simplify processes, solve issues, and develop build and onboarding patterns via automation.
Knowledge and experience of modern infrastructure build and deployment mechanisms, with experience in deploying infrastructure as code and public cloud infrastructure highly desirable.
