Whether or not you serve in a clinical role, every member of the Cleveland Clinic team is a caregiver. Serving as a Software Developer, being a caregiver begins in the office, where you will contribute to the design, development, troubleshooting, and implementation of applications that meet critical business and research needs. In this role, you will work closely with our Biostatistics and Data Analytics team to translate advanced statistical models and AI-driven research into scalable, deployable tools. This position is essential for bridging the gap between data science and implementation, accelerating AI integration into clinical workflows, reducing reliance on external vendors, and enhancing DDI’s ability to translate research into measurable impact.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. 

  • Adhere to the team's defined SDLC best practices, including use of templates and source control. 

  • Participate in story writing, estimating and backlog refinement sessions. 

  • Follow department guidelines regarding time tracking and work assignment. 

  • Debug and troubleshoot code-related issues and defects. 

  • Support projects and provide ongoing application support in an agile development environment. 

  • Deliver solutions and deliverables as part of a squad in an agile development environment. 

  • Complete assigned tasks within the established time estimate. 

  • Provide after-hours support as appropriate. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience developing ASP.NET, VB.NET and/or C# applications

  • OR Associate’s degree and one year of experience developing ASP.NET, VB.NET, SQL and/or C# applications

  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or other related field with appropriate academic software development experience

  • For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Associate's Degree in information technology/computer science related field

  • Basic understanding of database and application services

  • Python and SQL experience

  • Developed projects i.e. in Github

  • Project Management skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. 

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
