Position Summary

  • Supports the Commercial Underwriting Organization
  • Primary focus on Process Improvement initiatives, Automation, driving effective Business System initiatives, and facilitating meetings
  • Assists department with projects or workgroups, including process improvement initiatives
  • Anticipates questions and formulates responses
  • Understands and Applies underwriting guidelines within all initiatives
  • Identifies training gaps and recommends appropriate course of action
  • Develops improvement recommendations based on complex data and root cause analysis
  • Advocate for change, anticipate potential objections, and communicate difficult and complex ideas with ability to drive influence and lead others to adopt a different point of view when necessary.
  • Leads collaboration across all parties to gain buy-in, develop solutions, and guide project team through completion


Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in underwriting or Continuous Improvement project management

  • Advanced ability to collaborate with internal partners (ex. Sales, Actuarial)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint,  MS Teams
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills
  • Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Experience identifying process improvement opportunities & proposed solutions supported by data analysis
  • Ability to work in the Hartford, CT office


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of underwriting process
  • Strong technical skills working with databases including Quickbase, PowerBI, SQL, MS Access
  • Ability to present within all levels of the organization


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
