Job Summary

Arch Re Fac’s Senior Underwriters are members of a team spanning the United States, Canada and Europe focused on developing strong, mutually-beneficial business relationships with primary insurance company underwriters. This position will require some domestic travel, approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Underwriters are responsible for developing client relationships and submission flow, as well as underwriting and negotiating the transactions.  

Required Skills

• 10+ years property insurer or reinsurer underwriting experience

Desired Skills

• Proven ability to work as part of a team

• Demonstrated customer-service focus coupled with strong negotiation skills

• Strong Property Underwriting Acumen including an understanding of coverage, risk hazards and  policy forms

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Sound Computer/Technology skills

• Desire for continued learning

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (ideally with a degree/major in Risk Management, Economics, or Business) or equivalent training required

• Additional industry-specific study and designations (such as CPCU, ARe) a plus

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

• Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
