Position Summary

The Americas Benefits Strategy Delivery Manager (Benefits SDM) is a pivotal role focused on implementing and managing comprehensive benefits programs with a customer-centric and successful vendor management approach. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, financial acumen, and operational excellence to ensure the delivery of top-tier benefits services that align with organizational goals and employee needs.

The Americas Benefits SDM will be responsible for vendor management and ensuring compliance with regulatory changes. A strong emphasis is placed on data management, vendor relations, and budget oversight to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of benefits offerings. The role demands a proactive stance on carrier performance evaluation, benefit comparisons, and integration of benefits for newly acquired companies.

Detailed Position Responsibilities

1. Vendor Management

  • Develop metrics to measure the cost-of-service delivery and ongoing administration and vendor utilization.

  • Lead vendor management activities, contract renewals, ensuring service level agreements are exceeded.

  • Critically evaluate carrier performance, establish cost metrics for service delivery and administration.

  • Cultivate strong vendor/carrier partnerships within the Americas region.

2. Governance and Compliance:

  • Proactively ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory changes, maintaining documentation and guaranteeing operational plan conformity.

  • Strategically manage the distribution of annual compliance notices and communications within deadlines.

  • Efficiently oversee data collection for pension governance, actuarial requirements, and plan compliance.

  • Address escalations and resolve issues promptly.

3. Communication & Delivery:

  • Support the communication of all benefit, work-life, and well-being programs.

  • Implement robust communication plans to maximize benefits program awareness and optimize utilization.

  • In coordination with the Corporate Communications team ensure effective messaging and promotion of benefits offered by the Company.

  • Provide insight on the standardization and best practices, leveraging available technology for benefits administration, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefit programs to increase participation, employee engagement and reduce operational cost.

  • Act as subject matter expert to the benefits teams in areas of renewals, data analytics, and local compliance.

4.  Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Lead and manage post-close activities related to 401K and health & well-being plans.

  • Provide guidance and standardized approach for new benefits offered to acquired employees.

  • Lead derisking project for defined benefit pension plan and formulate standard pension plan processes.

Desired Experience

Must have requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years prior extensive experience in benefits administration, vendor management, and compliance regulations.

  • In-depth understanding of pension governance, actuarial requirements, and plan compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and wellbeing assessment tools and interventions.

  • Acquaintance with benefits standards and policies, especially for M&A integration.

  • Proven capability to manage large-scale projects and multi-year implementation plans.

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a customer-centric approach and financial acumen.

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or the equivalent knowledge gained through progressive work experience. 

  • Consulting skills/ impact and influence abilities/ strong stakeholder management skills 

  • Experience working with current BMS HR and Total Rewards enabling systems: Workday, ServiceNow, Online Benefits Admin/Darwin, ADP.

  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and convincing way to staff, callers, and functional business and technical groups.
