Overall Scope of Role

The role of the Director, Guest Communications, is a key leadership role within the Commercial Experiences & Program Management Team. He/she will work at a strategic level to ensure seamless guest experience and guest communications for all the commercial products for the Olympic & Paralympic Games including IVH, OVH and Overnight packages. This role will primarily serve as the guest communications lead and will work with internal and external constituents to strategize, plan and manage the overall guest communications journey.

He/She will work with in-market teams to understand the story we are trying to tell and the details of the entire product portfolios. This role will work to provide the correct level of information to the guests with the ultimate goal of providing clear and consistent communication, with culturally sensitive language and a cohesive voice through all the communications. There will also be an extensive level of integration within the digital and technology framework and deliverables.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities – Olympics and Paralympics

  • Serve as the center of the strategy, planning and execution of commercial guest communications including alignment with the Function Areas to ensure all of the moving parts are coming together correctly and a complete understanding of the guest journey and inclusions - work with marketing, digital & tech, operational teams, sales and servicing teams etc.
  • Lead the guest communications strategy, planning and execution across the Olympic and Paralympic projects.
  • Develop, build and manage relationships as required with internal and external constituents including IOC, Organizing Committees, OL executives and management and Functional Areas to facilitate and move aspects of the program forward as required
  • Create, build and implement processes, best practices, and efficiencies for the team and project as needed.
  • Responsible for all guest communications approvals with IOC, organizing committees and OL executives and management.
  • Create and oversee the guest communication timelines and inclusions map that outlines what information will be shared at what guest touch point.
  • Work in conjunction with the digital/tech and guest registration teams on management of guest information and distribution of guest communication materials.
  • Work in partnership with the Marketing teams to ensure the On Location story is brought to life within the guest communications.
  • Manage and support team members to align and bring to life the guest communication strategies.
  • Responsible for copywriting, content creation, and editing for written messaging for all product types with a focus on quality control and version control.
  • Oversee/write copy for decks or presentation, making sure the language and tone is consistent with what needs to be produced.
  • Ideated new and innovative ways to communicate with guests outside of digital and social methods. 
  • Oversee RFP process to select a translation company and manage translations for all written communication in languages required ensuring the correct tone and considering cultural nuances.
  • Any other written and communication needs as assigned and required.
  • Support and execute all other duties assigned by the team or leadership.

Administrative & Other Responsibilities

  • Create presentations and documentation in Microsoft office (PPT, Word, Excel, etc.) or Keynote as needed and assigned. 
  • Develop and implement specific event procedures and systems.
  • Conduct and attend meetings as needed for the wider program management team.
  • Attend meetings and take notes to record updates and next steps.
  • Manage timelines and deadlines related to assignments.
  • Participate in brainstorm sessions; research, ideate and provide creative ideas.
  • Manage assigned projects through companies’ project management system.
  • Manage other administrative duties as needed.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Travel

Must be adaptable with work and travel schedule, including both domestic and international destinations. Available to travel for work during holidays, weekends, and key event times.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with Global Events and Communications including 4+ Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, and/or Rugby World Cup required
  • Experience with extensive experience in the entire life cycle of a planning a Global Event from strategy to execution required
  • Must have an interest in travel, tours, experiences, experiential marketing and continuously research new concepts, interesting ideas and activations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Sports Marketing and/or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in the Travel & Hospitality industry
  • Experience in strategic thinking and planning events including putting process and best practices in place
  • Extensive experience with guest services as well as event curation, execution, and/or operations
  • Experience with creating presentations in PowerPoint and/or Keynote presentations
  • Experience in Microsoft office (PPT, Word, Excel, etc. required) 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative style and ability to communicate effectively at all levels including strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience managing budgets and processing payments

Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.  Endeavor strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.


Hiring Range Minimum:

$97,500 annually

Hiring Range Maximum:

$130,000 annually
