What we do

Our data scientists are end-to-end owners and as such, you will actively participate in all aspects of designing, researching, building, and delivering data-focused products for our stakeholders. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will contribute meaningfully through leading others.

Our data science team is embedded into nearly a dozen mission-focused engineering teams working across a wide spectrum of technological and scientific challenges.  You will have the opportunity, based on your interests and background, to work on problems related to natural language processing and machine learning over hundreds of millions of web pages; graph mining and algorithmic optimization on petabytes of data; and causal inference with missing data - to name a few.

Data scientists contribute to more than our product – they build up our team. We are a team built on a foundation of generosity and openness, and we expect our Data Scientists to help make others better and raise the bar for those around them.

What you’ll do:

Some of the work that you will be doing to help us deliver on our mission is:

  • Query through large and intricate database to pull and deliver data at the right dimension and granularity for users of various media performance measurement needs
  • Data cleaning, processing and manipulation based on client needs and requirements in Python or R with the potential to scale
  • Be able to speak to and make recommendation on the right data dimension for the right measurements and be able to explain why
  • Run ad hoc analysis based on results shared from external partners, comfortable with problem solving with limited data and info
  • Perform original research that not only builds media performance and KPI benchmark, but also set industry standard

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Trading, Insights, Partnerships, Product) to help drive techniques and learnings forward to drive impact with clients.
  • Partner with business teams and clients to uncover what might be driving positive and negative MMM reads for TTD buys and find ways to advise clients on measurement and activation approaches to solve
  • Participate and/or drive end-to-end contributions to complex, multi-layered, impactful data-focused projects. You think beyond just the task at hand to deeply understand the 'why' behind what you are doing and anticipate problems that may be several degrees removed from obvious requirements.
  • Work with confidence and without ego. Our data scientists have deep knowledge and exercise a high level of leadership in their daily work. You’ll have strongly-held, defensible ideas, and advocate for what you believe is right. You’ll be practiced at identifying and evaluating trade-offs, willing to be proven wrong, and committed to support your fellow teammates.
  • Think creatively, not bound by "the way things have always been done."

We are a global team with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. To complement this team, you will welcome ideas that are different from your own and be well-versed in building from common ground to value, seek out, and foster invisible and visible dimensions of diversity.

  • You understand both conceptually and mathematically the variables and variable categories included in an MMM model and how media data can impact business KPIs
