We are seeking a skilled HRIS Consultant for a project-based implementation of a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) aimed at streamlining and harmonizing our HR processes. This project will focus on integrating disparate HR functions, consolidating processes, and ensuring data consistency across the organization. The consultant will manage the project from inception to completion, aligning the HRIS system with organizational goals and ensuring a seamless transition to optimized HR operations.
In this role, you will be in charge of:
- Integration Development: Design, implement, and maintain integrations between the HRIS system and other HR-related systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, ATS, LMS, timekeeping).
- Data Flow Management: Ensure seamless data exchange between systems, identifying and addressing any issues that affect data integrity, and resolving data discrepancies.
- Configuration & Customization: Configure integration settings based on organizational requirements, including API configurations, system enhancements, and upgrades.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, IT, and external vendors to gather integration requirements, provide technical support, and manage project timelines.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve technical issues related to system integrations and data flow. Escalate complex issues to relevant teams when necessary.
- System Testing: Develop and execute test plans to ensure integrations meet functional and business requirements, minimizing disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of integrations, workflows, processes, and system changes. Ensure all procedures and technical specifications are well-documented.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure that all integrations meet compliance and security standards, including data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for HRIS system upgrades, releases, and other system changes. Maintain regular system health checks to ensure reliability and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system improvements, automation, and process efficiencies to enhance the overall HR technology ecosystem.

This position can be based at our headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. Remote work is also an option.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Direct experience with HRIS platforms
- Understanding of HR processes like payroll, benefits administration, time tracking, recruitment, and performance management, as these are commonly integrated with the HRIS.
- Experience with tools such as Workato
- Experience working with APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), especially RESTful and SOAP APIs, to enable communication between HRIS and other systems.
- Knowledge of data formats such as XML, JSON, and CSV for exchanging data between systems.
- Experience in managing data transformation and data mapping between different systems.
- Proficiency in SQL to query and manipulate data from databases. Experience in writing complex queries to support data extraction, integration, and reporting needs.
- Understanding of relational database structures, especially in the context of HR data.
- Experience with configuring HRIS platforms to accommodate integration points (e.g., setting up SFTP connections, adjusting API configurations).
- Customizing workflows and integration triggers within the HRIS and related systems to ensure smooth operation across platforms.
- Experience in troubleshooting technical issues related to data flows, integration failures, or system outages.
- Hands-on experience in identifying root causes of integration issues, performing system debugging, and collaborating with vendors or IT teams for resolution.
- Experience in creating and executing test plans, scripts, and test cases to validate system integrations.
- Conducting UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure the integration meets business and functional requirements.
- Experience working cross-functionally with HR, IT, and external vendors to gather requirements, design integration solutions, and implement changes.
