Job Summary:
The Manager Analytics and Insights, Business Operations functions as an operational leader focusing on day-to-day activities of the IT Data and Insights Business Operations team. This System level leader provides oversight to Finance or Human Resources areas and may provide leadership to business line roles. Direct accountabilities include a wide range of functions within accountable areas of expertise such as
1. Monitoring and managing to defined functional area goals and KPI's in alignment with Data and Insights strategies
2. Deploying standards for tools, data, designs and customer processes
3. Ensuring a superior customer experience with Data and Analytics interactions
4. Managing vendor entitlements and day to day operations for accountable systems (ex: Kronos Analytics / Productivity, Vizient ODB Ops Benchmarking, Vizient CDB Clinical Benchmarking, EPSI Cost Actg, RL Solutions Safety, etc)
5. Engaging stakeholders at all levels throughout the development lifecycle of People, Process and Technology
6. Growing the next generation of Wellstar leaders through mentorship, experience and education
7. Instilling an agile culture of iterative development, timely business adaptations and rapid process improvement
8. Monitoring and contributing to industry standards through external peer collaboration
9. Identifying, analyzing, recommending solutions for and taking action on areas of opportunity for workforce efficiencies and expenditures
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
General Leadership Strategy and Tactical
Provides leadership to team members with a focus on professional growth. Leads by System goal alignment and critical thinking concepts. Builds next gen Wellstar leaders. Oversees and executes on both day to day and strategic goals of the Finance and HR Business Operations areas
a. Leads the Data and Insights, Business Operations Finance and HR team in daily operations to meet organizational goals b. Mentors and trains team leads and individual contributors to operationally excel and develop professionally c. Evaluates and aligns team, deliverables and services to meet enterprise level business needs d. Ensures customer leaders are effectively trained on the utilization of accountable tools, data, insights delivered e. Provides guidance to direct leaders and line level team members on Wellstars strategic direction f. Maintains a highly competent staff to meet the Wellstars objectives and strategies g. Plans and directs the hiring and development, and/or dismissal of personnel, appraises subordinates and administers promotions and salary reviews h. Prepares departmental budgets and related financial documents i. Monitors and ensures compliance of contractual entitlements; negotiates new agreements and renewals as appropriate System Level Consulting and Collaborative Leadership
Maintains strong positive relationships with team members, colleagues and executive leaders. Participates as an active and supportive part of the Wellstar leadership team in developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives and serves as a consulting leadership resource for corporate and operational teams. More specifically within Finance and HR Operations areas of expertise
a. Oversees a centralized cross functional team as well as presides as business SME for areas of accountability b. Provides tactical leadership, collaborative coordination, creative problem solving and recommendations across the enterprise to ensure the effective use of resources c. Collaboratively works with counterparts to ensure data structure enables and facilitates ease of analytics and visualization development d. Works closely with all levels of leadership to meet system workforce focused strategic and tactical goals and objectives e. Demonstrates an inquisitive nature by analyzing and investigating operational performance on a prospective, rather than reactive, basis Technical Leadership
Develops long-term strategic roadmaps to maintain operations and improve access to corporate Data and Insights tools with a focus on improving operational excellence. Monitors technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry standards and emerging business requirements. Understands the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. More specifically within Finance and HR Operations areas of expertise
a. Provides high-level technical expertise and is accountable for the development and on-going support and integration of accountable solutions and systems b. Develops and implements changes in methods or procedures to increase efficiency of solutions, systems and workflows c. Enhances team technical and functional professional growth and development through education programs, workshops or other educational opportunities that may be presented d. Assists accountable leaders with planning for application upgrades, data submissions, etc e. Identifies, prioritizes, and escalates contractual issues to vendors in a timely manner f. Manages to IT related frameworks where possible (ITIL, Change Management, KPIs, etc) g. Assists in the development and review of RFP, RFQ, RFI, for systems, solutions or services Fiscal Leadership
Accountable for an annual budget and responsible for reviewing monthly cost center performance. In coordination with peer department heads, provides reasonable, rational explanations for variances. More specifically within Finance and HR Operations areas of expertise
a. Proactively monitors accountable budget and outlines corrective actions for unapproved budget variances b. Perform analysis and creation of business plans and proformas for Data and Insights initiatives c. Follow-up and review of actual performance of implemented business plans d. Monitors and ensures compliance of contractual entitlements e. Negotiates new agreements and renewals as appropriate
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Hospital Operations or similar degree Required or
equivalent work experience in directly related, data analytics role. Required
Advanced Degree or Healthcare Specialty Program Completion Preferred

Required Minimum Experience:
Informal leadership in large scale, team-based operations in technology, finance, human resources, management engineering or clinical operations. Required
Minimum 5 years relevant experience. Required
Minimum 3 years direct experience. Required
Healthcare experience Preferred
Specific knowledge of Kronos Analytics, Vizient ODB / CDB, EPSI, StrataJazz, RL Solutions and HR Analytics tools Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:
Capable of managing cross functional teams in fast paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
Business knowledge of Enterprise Data and Insights processes and competencies in respective areas of expertise (Finance / HR Productivity / Benchmarking / Cost / HR Analytics).
Must be a proven change agent using technology methodologies such as Agile and ITSM.
Ability to create clear, concise reporting with a high attention to detail using intermediate level skills such as... MS SQL, raw data transformation
