As a Shift Operations Process Technician at Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA (MTV), you will have sustaining ownership of high-tech processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Typical duties include ensuring quality and efficiency metrics remain within limits, sustaining quality by implementing control plans, documenting deviant material and processes as needed as well as supporting other areas of the operation to reach the organizations goals. 
 

You will work in partnership with other process technicians and engineers and various engineering areas to resolve defect related issues and work with support groups to drive continuous improvement initiatives like cost, Quality, and throughput etc.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, analyzing Statistical process control (SPC) charts and conducting effective root cause analysis daily to assist with SPC out of control issues.  
  • Follow reactions mechanisms and procedures to stop deviated processes quickly to limit the quality impact to our product. 
  • Assist in OOC reduction initiatives and continuous improvements of our area procedures, reaction mechanisms improvement efforts. 
  • Analyze common failures and report data to internal customers. 
  • Support tool availability/uptime through post maintenance tool qualifications. 
  • Support tactical efforts to sustain operational efficiency and tool throughput. 
  • Analyze and react to tool defectivity issues.  
  • Keeping the lead updated on area issues and supporting additional engineering functions as needed.  
  • Completing all required training and maintaining area certification requirements.  
  • Provide timely updates on critical items and top priorities to the appropriate team members following appropriate critical issue procedure 
  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring reports, Special Work Requests (SWRs) and data summaries of process related information as well as quickly resolving basic process problems.   
  • Assisting with process optimization, testing, creating and modifying process related procedures, disposition lots and increasing tool availability through systematic problem solving.  
  • Takes part in and drives valuable projects and quality team efforts in area and/or outside area 
  • Interacts with area experts to gain more knowledge. 
  • Seeks and Accepts constructive feedback and independently creates plans to improve 

Minimum Education/Experience for all Technician Positions

  • Strong desire and motivation to learn and excel. 
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills. 
  • Good understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving at least into an algebraic level.  
  • Good understanding and proper application of statistical process control principles.  
  • Basic to intermediate data extraction, analysis and reporting skills.  
  • Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills.  
  • Validated ability to troubleshoot basic issues related to process flows and address root causes.  
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  
  • Proven track record to work optimally with minimal supervision.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Proven ability in multi-tasking complex projects.  
  • The ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and take the initiative to assume added responsibilities.  
  • Successfully demonstrated teamwork skills with a strong focus on effective team dynamics.  
  • The ability and willingness to be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed.  
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes. 
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Document issues in updates and emails that are well written, accurate, and timely. 
  • Willingness to come in over-time and work on projects or helping sister shifts as needed.  
  • The following skills, knowledge or abilities are also preferred:  
  • Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles.  
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry concepts and principles.  
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of the Dry Etch area equipment and processes.
