POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you passionate about entrepreneurship and want to contribute to the success of Canadian businesses? Do you have strong multi-channel marketing, content creation, strategic planning and B2B product marketing experience? BDC is looking for a Senior Advisor, Product Marketing to help promote its products and services. As a marketing expert, the successful candidate will provide marketing guidance to all levels of the organization.
The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment driven by teamwork, creativity, performance and a commitment to customer experience. If you have proven communication and interpersonal skills and are passionate about creating clear and engaging marketing content, then this role is for you.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Work closely with BDC product development teams and all lines of business to develop marketing communications strategies and plans, and bring them to life with clear positioning, value propositions, naming and key messages.
Create engaging content, including website, marketing materials and sales support material in collaboration with product, sales, communications and marketing teams
Provide strategic advice to position and promote BDC products and initiatives through successful multi-channel marketing campaigns (e.g., messaging for digital campaigns, newsletters banners, promotional emails, etc.).
Write marketing briefs to guide the development of marketing communication assets
Help set key performance indicators for campaigns, monitor progress and recommend/implement any necessary changes to improve performance.
Ensure consistency of brand positioning and messaging in all communications to meet BDC’s style guide and inclusive writing standards.
Perform regular content updates.
Work with internal stakeholders (translation, branding, Web and digital experience, public relations, etc.) to ensure efficient marketing content creation, publication, and promotion.
Stay on top of the latest news and economic trends affecting small and medium-sized businesses as well as entrepreneurs’ preferred modes and channels of communication.
Oversee the work of external resources when required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or any related field
Minimum of seven years of experience building strategic cross functional marketing plans to promote B2B products and services, develop relevant content and execute on these plans through cross-functional collaboration
Excellent skills in digital marketing and communication strategies
Experience in creating crisp marketing briefs and plans as well as launching products marketing and tracking success
Bilingualism (French and English) is required
An editorial mindset and an ability to create engaging and convincing marketing communications
Strong leadership abilities, including polished communication and negotiation skills
An ability to work quickly under pressure and manage changing timelines
Ability to manage and track budgets
A successful track record of launching products and campaigns
Curiosity and the ability to ask probing questions
Good knowledge of the small business environment and issues
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously
