What you will do

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing manufacturing processes and methods required for a premier HVAC manufacturing facility. Essential duties include leading and participating in projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and improve product quality.

How

  • Processing engineering change requests.

  • Trouble-shooting production problems.

  • Assist in trouble-shooting assembly & fabrication equipment.

  • Modifying work instructions and informing the changes to the production line.

  • Optimizing workstation layout.

  • Designing templates and tools that enhance productivity.

  • Justifying, specifying, and installing equipment.

  • Introducing new products (BOM scrubbing, Manufacturing Trial Lots, assisting in Training, and working with Design Engineering on Production Issues related to Design for Manufacturing).

  • Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials and Routings (Assembly and Fabrication).

  • Supporting and leading Lean projects.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor or Master of Mechanical Engineering. 1-3 years experience, preferred HVAC, in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, i.e. 5S, root cause analysis, material flow, material presentation, process flow, workstation design, and layouts.

  • Equipment justification, specification, and installation.

  • Ergonomic principles.

  • Classic industrial engineering principles include time studies, line balancing, and equipment utilization analyses.

  • Machine design (fixtures, equipment design, fabrication, and installation).

  • Presentations, teamwork, and coaching for optimal performance.

  • Microsoft Office, SAP, AutoCAD, and Pro-E.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. Occasionally the employee is required to climb or balance. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move from (5) five to (50) fifty pounds.  Anything over 50 lbs. requires physical or mechanical assistance.  Employees must be able to raise their arms to chest level, above shoulder level and overhead.  Must be able to reach with hands and arms; use hands to fingers, handle or feel.  Must be able to talk and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses.

*Job requires work to be performed on a computer/desk (SAP, email, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.).  This work will be performed at the individuals’ personal workstation/desk.
